Damn.... Rest in Peace, Andy. I am very proud of what everyone did for him... we met him in Pleasanton, and he was a really nice kid. My condolences to his family.

Rest in peace, Andy. Quite a fighter he was.

Wow, I lost one of my best friends last week, Andy this week......it doesn't get any tougher than that. My condolences to the Dunn family.

  6. The Gizzle Hopper family will miss Andy. We never got to meet him face to face, but we knew him well just the same. His stories, his building the car, his trips,,,,all very sweet memories. All HAMB members loved him and we will miss him dearly.

  7. My heart goes out to his Mom and Dad, and lets not forget his brother too. Also, heartfelt thanks,to all those fine people there in Newfoundland, that pitched in,to put all those parts and pieces of Model A together for such a fine young man. Andy inspired me,during some very difficult times, and will continue to do so, through memories of such courage and strength. The HAMB lost a very fine young family member today, but we'll have many years of memories,of how much a community of people spanning the globe can work together,to help make the dreams of such a worthy, and courageous young man be realized. We'll miss you forever HAMBAndy, but you'll always be in our hearts, especially while we are cruising along thinking of the best memories of life. We'll meet up someday, where the cruising never ends. Don F.

I am fairly new here and as of tonight I did not know there was even a HAMB Andy out there, but after reading through these pages I kind of really get the idea of who he was and what he meant to every one. It really shows through all the posts that he was a hero and an inspiration to all. Someone posted a question to the effect of, why is it that the best and nicest people that he had met were all sick. I think there is an answer for this. I believe that they are given to us to set an example and be an inspiration to us all and to show us what the human heart and mind can do and accomplish. I feel a huge sense of pride to know that I am part of a group that had the heart and good thoughts to do something so nice for someone else like you all did in building that sedan for Andy. I sit here with tears in my eyes for a person I never met but also for the good thoughts of him being so happy and the love that was shared between him and the HAMB.
God bless him and you guys. You all should feel great happiness for the joy you brought to him.

    RIP Andy
    My condolences to the family.

What an impact to have on so many lives. Andy may have been here for only a short time but seems he lived a fuller life than some. He brought quite a few people together. Here's to his legacy, everyone go out and help one another whenever you get the chance. Look outside yourselves just as so many on here have.
    Rest well Andy.

  17. God bless Andy and God bless his family.

"Death, where is your vicyory: Pain, where is your sting?

You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Ryan, here's another reason for the H.A.M.B., you give people a
great escape and/or release from their every day concerns.
We are all saddened by this news and we share his family's sorrow.

I logged on today, saw this thread and my heart sank.
I think from the replies we can see how respected HambAndy was.
Hambandy's friendship for us and ours for him and his family will be his greatest legacy.
Also I think at least one of the images shown earlier in this thread need to be included in next year's HAMB calender.
    See you mate!
