My condolences to the family. Another great name from the 'Happy Time' of hot rods and customs is gone. He left a great legacy for gearheads to live up to in the future. Keep that traditional rod n' custom creative spark going!
One of the greats.. Thanks for all the gorgeous rides and for being one helluva gentleman. We'll miss you Larry. In my top 5 favorite Kustoms of all time.. Sy Gregorich's '55 Crown Vic, "The Victorian" by The Alexander Bros.
We've lost a lot of good ones lately, add Larry to the list Deepest condolences to his friends and family. He'll live forever in the cars he has created.
Can't believe it. When he and his brother talked about their beginnings and like Piero said, moving several times, they were and are the GENUINE article of customizers. Their approach, gratefulness and positive attitude is beyond anything. Thank You Larry Alexander for what you have done and the legacy you have left. Ken
Hardly a finer gentleman existed in our business. Amazing creativity by both Larry and Mike. I would sit and chat (a couple of times) with Larry at the Downriver model car club. We would talk about their shop and the different customers and how the business would go. What a great guy, and what a high priveledge it was to share conversation with him. All I know for sure is, at this rate there's gonna be some great customs in heaven... God rest your soul, Mr. Alexander Our world is a much better place becaused of you
Folks, here is a great piece on the A Brothers... http://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?title=Alexander_Brothers
I had the pleasure of working with Larry for the last years of his work life at Ford Research Metal Shop. He was a gentle, patient, talented man and a proud father to his three kids and proud brother of Mike. RIP.
Rest In Peace Larry. I never met him, but I have heard stories of him and his Brother Mike from my Father. God Bless You Larry.
I always liked the Alexander Brothers style better than about anything else that was done in their era. Sure glad I got to meet them at the 50th Detroit show. RIP Larry
Condolences to the family. Their work was always state of the art. I never had the pleasure to meet him, but whenever you saw his photo in a magazine, he just looked like a nice, respectful person.
I have had pleasure of knowing Larry for the past few years He will be missed around the shop where I work R.I.P
Condolences to the family.Just watched there interview the other day on The MAD Fabricators. R.I.P. Larry
Anyone have a good photo of Sy Gregorich's car after the A Brothers painted it black? I remember the car in the little pages back about 1960.
I can't get onto Rik's site right now, but I think I sent him a picture of the black version of Sy's car. Check under A Bro's.
