One of the more popular ch***is choices for a COE seems to be a '73-'87 GM. But steering is still an issue. Switching to a R&P would allow the rack to be rotated to an optimum position. Has anyone ever done a successful conversion to R&P ?? If so, what did you use>

Get fuzzy , just read your attachment, looks good . Keep us posted . If the R& P is roles up shouldn't have problems with notching frame and better angel for steering shaft .

I wouldn't mind running a setup like that on a 1/2 ton, but I question the strength and longevity on a loaded 1 ton.

Started mock up today. My son got me a reman rack, and I started modifying the crossmember, and making mounts. The first mod I didn't like but the second looks more promising. I'll post some pics tomorrow night.

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg Here's a few pics of progress so far. Like I said the first go round I didn't like or I wouldn't have removed so much of the cross member. I am happy about the angle the input shaft is in. The steering column will line up sweet.
