Keep them names coming guys and thanks for the imput .I cant wait to see what lots of people have on their mind for a name for the old girl .Im sure i will get alot of poor attemps at humor as well ,but its worth it for a good name down the side of the Dart. Thanks again to most of you...
Would it have to be a hemi to call it "white elephant"? I do like poison dart. Put a turbo or supercharger on it and call it "blow dart"
Paint a red Starsky stripe on it and call it Hutch. Don't forget the red light to put on the top. Do you have a leather jacket?
Lil SnowBALLZY Pop Dart...or The Leodart (like leotard) Blu Biyou...or...Dart Gone Wild...Dartboard...Dartin' Bye... Hold on..ran out beer..be back later
I would just call it "Tranquilizer". Because it's already a Dart. I can see the letters painted across the door and quarter panel just like it was '68. "Tranquilizer" sounds like it would have been a name on a car back then too, not some dorky catch phrase or witty name. Just simple, and to the point. And I think it's cool as hell, Darts fuckin rule.
The car in this link is called Poison Dart. http://www.popularhotrodding.com/features/0601phr_1970_dodge_dart/photo_01.html I think there was also a drag car called Poison Dart.
"Poison Dart" sounds about right. One of my first visits to a drag strip was to the Wednesday Night Grudge Races at Seattle International Raceway (now, once again called Pacific Raceways) in the late 60's. There was an old, beat up, late 30's, early 40's Chevrolet pick up truck there. Rust, dents, black primer paint, steel painted wheels. It was called "the Janitor", the name was lettered haphazardly on the doors in white paint. 427 engine, TH 400 trans, 12 bolt, big slicks, and running LOW 12's. Had an old broom stuck in one post hole behind the cab, a shovel in the other. Sure impressed this 16 year old kid. That name has always been stuck in my mind. Up here in the Seattle area, there are what are called "DART" buses; "Dial A Ride Transportation", city/county vehicles for impoverished and elderly folks. Maybe paint it up Ramchargers style. Then there was Wild Bill Schrewsberry and his line of L.A. Darts. Where are you from? "X Dart", with an L.A. Dart paint scheme. Another, the "Dirty Dart". Or, with the red "headlights", the "Red Eye Express". Butch/56sedandelivery.
Ive got it! Chutin Dart!.......To be honest I dont like the red headlights on the dart either, even though they do look good on some, but thats just my .02 its your car
My radio must be broken. I tried all day turning knobs and the head lights didn't change colour! Anyway, I just cant believe its page 3 and no one has offered up the HAMB staple for car names, c'mon guy's who's slipping here! Doc.
