I have BFG Silvertown whitewall radials 225-70-15 on the rear that I would like to replace. What is the best tire out there right now to replace these…?
Those Silvertowns are nice tires I hear. Sure look good on your car. Why not go with them again? Especially if you are just replacing the rears.
I'm running American Classic on 2 of our cars as our Antique Tire supplier here in Oz seems to prefer them but they are probably similar in price to your BFG's so no advantage in changing. Why are you thinking of a change, short life, poor ride etc? American Classic are made in the USA and I assume the BFG"s are also. The Coker equivalent is - I think made in Mexico and my Auburn Deluxe Radials on my new coupe are made in Thailand!! Be patriotic and buy USA made.
Diamond Back is the way to go - their whitewall modification process is solid and the results are superb. After suffering through constant whitewall yellowing headaches with BFGs from Coker due to tire oils' bleed-through, I went with Diamond Back and they look/perform great. Their customer service is the best.
