So my new radiator came today and the instructions said to use a 7 to 16lbs cap depending on my motor. so since i still have my flathead should I still run the 7lbs cap or get a different one . and my 7lb cap off the old radiator dont fit anyway Thanks

Seven pounds should be good for a flathead. Buy the modern design so you can use a catch can that will **** the overflow back.

If you go higher pressure it raises the boiling point, you can probably use a 12-13 pound cap and be OK with the flatty if you do not have an overflow tank, the 16-19 pound caps are for use with the overflow tanks.

like the purty, but less filling than the beer can.
