hi guys so I am finally at the stage of fitting up the radiator. I have everything mocked up and i want to get any metal work done before paint. Can anyone recommend a decent electric fan kit? I’ve seem so many online it’s kinda crazy haha
I was sponsored in SEMA by and know the owner of Derale, so I might be a little biased, but I know lots of people running their stuff, fans, fan controllers etc without issue
I used this with a shroud. https://www.ebay.com/itm/16-INCH-EL...=17279190642382cf1eed143640ca986b2e54fd704a84
https://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2003/02/electricfan/ Ford Muscle had an article showing a "Junkyard Fan" install that had dual fans this put the water pump hub between the two fans and allowing for more clearance. https://www.fordmuscleforums.com/cooling-articles/482048-junkyard-upgrade-dual-electric-fans.html (see picture below in the article) This is an article I did long ago that is in the "Sticky FAQ" (Scroll Down to Post #5) https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/sbf-short-water-pump-pulleys.303600/
If you are doing a SBF swap in a 1952-56 Car the radiator mounting is further forward in cars that came with a Six which gives more radiator to fan clearance. Refer to this https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/faq-sticky.897329/page-5 Post #124 forward.
I looked at Spal fans at Summit, sort of expensive and the install kit was separate. eBay once again to the rescue. Got the whole shootin' match, fan, install kit, relay, etc. This is similar to what I'm using. Maybe $25 over what Summit wanted for just the fan. https://www.ebay.com/itm/30102048-1...469787&hash=item4417b8cd49:g:bp8AAOSwiDFYQJ8O
