Am Buiding a 29 coupe with a 283 chev and auto ******. Where can I find a radiator that won't cost an arm and leg? Havn't made my mind up yet but would like to use either a late 31 AA or 32 grill shell. My friend is building a 31 vickie. He found a nice 32 radiator w/ ****** cooler in it for less than $200 but they don't make them for 28-29s.
    Help please?

I've used a stock 29 with a SBC & a 1-3/4" copper tube on the bottom to get to the other side. With no thermostat it never gets over 175 even to vegas & back.

Walker radiators are great, ya they do cost a bit but so does have a 29 recored. A break down is a pain when you over heat.

Had a 49-54 Chevy truck rebuilt radiator that was small and fit my grill shell that was about the same dimensions as a model a grill shell just had to get some "L tabs" fabricated to support it. Those radiators are reliable on 283's kept mine cool under 200. Went with a be cool 64-65 mustang aluminum radiator later cuz it had almost the same measurements. Both are around 150-200 price range. And thats also if your looking for a non traditional radiator. Just thought it might help.

Early Mustang radiators are only about $140 from Autozone.
I think the V8 model is what you need for a SBC.
Whatever chain store you have in your area should be similar.

I needed a 2in. chopped 1928/9 Ford for a FordV8,and was looking like they were all $400 plus.
I did a lot of looking around for my 1929 Ford hotrod/292y-block,I have a 2in. choped 28/9 grill shell. Turned out that by far the lowist$ cost in a 4core I could find was listed for a T-bucket,but is the right size for me,I only had to make some brackets to hold shell because 28/9 shell is a little wider then a "T" shell, but "T" is short so fit great in my 2in. chop.29. Got it for $170 shipped, and is a very good one, even came with a Cap,but thats got China print on it.

looking for 28/9 listing get much higher $,so the trick for me was hunting size vs model.
Point is,that if your looking, know your size,it may save ya some cash.
