Im mounting a 32 Radiator on an A frame, Im curious if you guys use radiator mounts such as these that I found at So-Cal. or do you just bolt the radiator flanges to the cross member?

  2. Mine was just bolted in. But upon taking it apart for a motor swap I noticed that the upper strap was broken loose from the tank. Put it back together like the so-cal kit but I just made my own.

Hot rodders don't buy kits like this, they make them for a couple bucks. you must use an isolation mount like this or you will break something on the radiator

I used something simular..with a ruber mount between the frame and the bracket i welded to my lower core, and tank support.

  6. Hardware store hass all those parts for a couple bucks. I like Killers sway bar rubber idea as well.

I moved my radiator forward about 1 1/2" by using two 1/4" flat stock tabs bolted solid to the crossmember. the radiator is mounted to the tabs using Fords method of spring tensioned nut/bolt assembly.

there has to be some form of cushion or the radiator will suffer:eek:

I used a kit from Mac's, but I'm thinking it really isn't necessary. The springs are so stiff, it's almost like you'd be bolting it down anyway. You really only need the rubber pad, and that you can make yourself.

Thanx guys, the kit from So-cal is only $14 but I may make my own as suggested.
