I'm in the process of mounting my sheet metal back up on a 34 Ford

The pictures attached are my preliminary fitment which seems to have respectable gaps between the hood the body and the grill again this is the first go so I do have some room for adjustment however my question is

I installed a new crossmember from Speedway I did have an issue with the kit when it came and had to make some heavy modifications to make it work

The picture with the circle around it is the clearance between the bottom of the radiator and the rack and pinion unit I cannot conceive that small of a space to mount the radiator however from what I'm looking at with the panel fitment that's where it goes

This means the radiator Mount would actually be slightly below the bottom of the frame rail however it still would be substantially higher than the scrub line

I'm now operating under the assumption that their kit requires a custom Mount radiator when I ordered it I was at the impression I could use the factory style radiator any suggestions or comments are appreciated again I just cannot see that small of an area to bolt in the radiator

Looks like enough room to build a radiator mount in there to me. Make it at least a half inch too low, because you can always add spacers to go up, but you can’t go lower if it’s welded in.

After you get the brackets roughed out and tacked in, take extra time to adjust all your grille and panels for a perfect fit. Use the exact hood welting that you will use when done. Don’t paint a single thing till everything fits perfectly.

So this is a quick Fab up of a bracket for scale I put a 3/8 Bolt so it's going to be an extremely tight fit but should work

Call up Johnson’s radiator and have them make a radiator with the feet an inch higher than normal. Be sitting down when you make the call.

Moved to the off topic forum. Rack and pinion steering and Pinto IFS are strictly off topic on the main board

looking at this pic it looks like the rad is too high, some times I roll the car out and stand back about 40/50' and look it over.. 1/4'' too high will make the hood look up hill
