You guys that are running the engine behind the cab where are you putting your radiator? If its in the stock location how are you running your hoses to the radiator? I'm wondering if the stock water pump will pump all the way to the front and still do a decent job of cooling.

I would like to put mine together with the engine in the front but am thinking about foot room so am considering behind cab under a sleeper

The more I think about it the more confused I become ( I live in a state of confusion)

    Thanks

    Don

the last c.o.e. i did was a 38 ford with a bb chev behind the cab, iput the rad in the stock location and used exhast pipe that ran under the cab to the engine. the pipe was flared on the ends and the top one was bent at a 90 up at both ends to be closer to the rad outlets and top engine outlet no problems at all with cooling. used a 16 inch electric fan

Thank you Which way did you use the fan as a pusher or puller?

    Thanks again

donn-i used a puller with the built on shroud. i did'nt use a thermo switch just a toggle and relay. i think the key to cooling success is the radiator i bought a milodine new for a 72 1 ton motorhome(chev) worked great. the reason for using this rad was the size,it fit the firewall i built and still looked good behind the grill.when i did the floor i took into account that the air moveing through the rad would p*** under the floor and out the back towards the engine,it would also p*** the tubing going to and from the rad and help dissipate this heat as well. hope this helps.

My engine is behind the sleeper. The radiator, intercooler, and a/c condensor is sitting in front of the engine in exactly the same location in relation to the engine as it did in the 93 Dodge 1 ton it all came out of. This was done so I could simply buy an off the shelf radiator hose at any parts store while on the road if I blew one. I do have big trans cooler mounted behind the grille in the front with a cooling fan for low speed cooling. I used hydraulic hose with a metal sheath (way overkill) to protect it from chaffing/rubbing along the frame rail to plumb the trans to the cooler.

My rad is up front and the cad 5oo is behind the cab.Exhaust tubing was bent to fit inside the frame to the rad and back, picked up a 20% more effecient water pump.Using a remote oil filter and cooler complete with electric fan.Exact same for the trans.Twin 16 inch fansc with a custom fit shroud.from what I`ve read "water wetter" will do me no good and I cant come up with anything else so hope I`m covered
