f&j well as i stated im running a small block in it. desoto-thats a great deal!!!!!!! thats what im talking about, they want 300-400 to do the same to mine, and even that i think isnt TOO bad.
I have a 31 sedan and i was in the same boat as you, didnt have the money for a radiator and kept tryin ways around it. so i looked around and found a couple of everyday mid 90s cars that people gave to me and s****ed them 2 weeks ago got 300 bucks a car and bought the one in speedway and its in there now but didnt get coolant in it yet, so dont know how its gonna work. I know alot of people dont like the aluminum one but i have a griffin in my c10 and it works great so i went with them. and all it cost me was a days worth of work. Good luck Dave
i just sent my original radiator, shell, strap, and overflow tank to the shop today, he said he would build it all for me AND hot tank my 2 front wire wheels and let me sandblast them for 300 alltogether.i figure i cant beat that anywere. he said since im out of work he was willing to give me a break. that and it helps to be respectful to oldtimers and prove to them that youre not just some punk trying to get out of paying them. im going in tomorow to finish the wheels up and to map out what i want the radiator to have (waternecks and angles)
That's the way to go. Give someone in your community the work. Plus, it's on the front of your car, you don't want it to look like *** with the wrong, poor fitting radiator.
EXACTLY prewar, thats how i figure it, its the front of the car and i dont want it looking like i just slapped something in it. it will look right. and heck the guy hot tanked my wheels and let me spend the afternoon sandblasting them. couldnt ask for more than that. im pretty excited to see how it turns out.
