Mikey... I've seen some 'magazine cars' with 12" support 'struts' that went from 8" up on the radiator shell 45 degrees down to 6" back onto the frame rail, both sides. Looked clean, but I like the firewall rods. (just 'old & stubborn'):D

This is also about the same as I did, running from part way up down to frame. Running from rad top, too top firewall would get messed up in my 4x2 carbs 002 (4).JPG

Had to go digging thru old photos, but here is what I did long ago in my T-Bucket. I picked up the radiator support with a threaded rod, then the rod split in to two other rods, each going to an open bolt hole on the heads. To be clear, the motor mounts were solid (actually the rubber donut type, so very little engine movement) and there was no mechanical fan in the way. The triangular shape stopped the radiator from flopping around on crummy roads. This was taken when it was painted black, before it was chromed.
Sorry I don't have any other photos of it, but dang, that was over 20 years ago. Hope this gives you an idea to work with.

  6. Thanks Mike, Dana, and TTTT8, some cool ideas there. Been thinking of changing them on the coupe.
