Where is the best place to get a mid sixties mustang radiator set up with the sbc inlet outlet? I don't mind creative plumbing but thought it would be nice to use the standard hoses.

not sure where to get such a radiator, but we didn't have to get very creative, simply get an adjustable thermostat housing with the o-ring for the intake and you won't have to run any hoses in loops or L's or anything like that, just a straight shot and point it the right direction.

Go to a real parts store, they might have the illustrated radiator catalog that has all the specs on what's available in the world of stock replacement radiators.

Ford had this nasty habit of moving the bottom hose from one side to the other in the lat 60s or early 70s. I think Dodge did too.

  4. You are most likely going to have to use creative plumbing.. I used a swivel water neck up top and then a short piece of scrap 1 1/2" hose. The bottom is made up of two 90 degree 1 3/4 elbows coupled with a piece of exhaust tubing...

I'd suggest bending up a piece of welding wire to the shapes you need and hunting around a parts store for something close..

    be prepared to be creative.

There was a post, I think yesterday about mounting a Mustang radiator. It said that a 6 cylinder radiator has the outlets on the opposite as a v-8 radiator. So one or the other should work as long as they have the cooling capacity you need.

  6. In any town over 50,000 population there will be a good radiator guy that will look in his book and find a ratiator with the dimensions you want, arount ?$160, and for another $30 - $50 he will re-locate the inlet, outlet to the location of your liking.......

  7. THE ones for 7?-76? aspen with a 318 usually work also. I have used ebay for figuring this stuff out before also. Just look at the pix and figure out what you need.

After having done that I would go somewhere and get dimensions to try and get something that fits better. If you don't build some sort of insert the radiator will look like shit. The reason I used the mustang radiator was because I had read here that alot of people use them. It was about $160 that was the cheapest I could find in town. Hope this helps.
