I needed to pull away the forward lower 6 inches of rain gutter from the COE's A pillar to install the donor cowl panel. I'm debating if I want to put that 6 inches back or just shorten them by that amount. The truck will be driven in weather eventually so I don't think removing the gutters entirely isn't an option. Cutting off the 6 inches will place the forward bottom of them above the window opening.. Not sure if that's going to make rain pour in or not... Ideas??
I think the manufacturers found they did little good while driving, but was useful in keeping some rain off the driver when exiting, so they were shortened. I would vote for shortening them to alittle lower than the top. I think it would clean the lines up subtly. You might have to add a thin strip of metal to keep the door gap right though.
