And so another customer project begins.Cant complain one bit about the awesome customer projects i have in the shop right now!! Well headed to hershey last week for the swap meet found a smokin deal on a 32 frame picked it up for ralph since we were going back and forth about frames. Headed to Jersey Friday to do a little work at Summit Rod and Custom and then to Ralphs to pick up the roadster body! so far gonna be a high boy .flathead and a quickchange and im sure a few other tricks are gonna be pulled out. first gonna get the sheetmeatl fixed up then onto the frame so far gonna be a high boy .flathead and a quickchange and im sure a few other tricks are gonna be pulled out. first gonna get the sheetmeatl fixed up then onto the frame what is this handle?
typical model a rot in my opinion .dont think theres gonna be anything to surprising. the guy he got the car from was almost 90. car hasnt seen the light of day since 54 when it was taken apart.
funny you say that thunderbird you're roadster was brought up in the design/direction of the car. thats on the rumble lid cadillac stay tuned guys should start cuttin soon!!
Just what the HAMB needs...........another traditional early Ford roadster build. Keep us updated on any progress. Frank
I have never been a roadster guy, allways liked a roof, but damn, i'm really starting to like them. 32 rails under an A, can't go wrong with that combo...keep the progress pics coming
thanks everyone!! cant wait to get to the fun stuff but gotta get the body nice and solid first! heres the start! dug inot the driver side cowl today found a mix of cement and some red oxide filler of sorts cut out the mess and found a solid area to work with welded up the inner piece and seam sealed it up i made the body line on the harbor freight bead roller with the step die and some work to give it crown . way easier to make your own in my opinion then mess with patch panels finished up this crack is really throwing the alignment of the door off on the bottom. its on the top rail you could say on the quarter panel crack open craack closed.makes the door fit waaaay tighter to the body ground a bunch more useless red oxide out of the door now its loking like a nice solid start!
Great progress already. Its crazy to watch my car being worked on over the computer. My roadster couldnt be in better or more talented hands. You are the man Flop.
Looking good...Those doors and even the decklid look to fit great from the pictures. My body was tweaked in so many directions..I still don't have nice gaps like yours..
