Anyone else have problems with a Ram brand clutch, as sold by Summit? I have one that is a diaphragm type. I have had to extend the release rod from the slave cylinder twice chasing the release arm. People I talk to say Ram clutches are a POS. Mine has now started chattering in reverse. The engine is a SBC hooked to a Richmond 5-speed.

I have a Ram clutch assembly in my coupe that is about 5 years old but has only 10,000 miles or so. The adjustment has tightened up to the point of slipping (it's a juice clutch). I have tried backing it off, but I think it's too late. The clutch has also had chatter since new, even with a new flywheel. As soon as I can It's coming out to be replaced with a new GM assembly. My opinion of Ram clutches is pretty low.

Thanks for the reply ZZFord. I really wonder why Summit continues to handle Ram clutches with the bad reputation I have been hearing about them.

I too will be changing to a GM truck clutch.
