Has anyone ever heard of, or have any experience with Sage Ramptech engines? I guess they’re remanufactured engines specifically for airport equipment?
Is there any good reason not to use an engine like this for a project car/hot rod built if you could get one at a relatively decent price? Any issues with using an engine like this?

I don't see why quality wise it wouldn't be any different from getting it at any other company like Atk or Jasper. I don't know about warranty on it. But if it's for commercial use I'd think it would be more than a regular supplier. Don't know about parts differences in the equipment compared to automotive.

GM 3L with all the manifolds looks interesting but 47 HP@1800 RPM isn't. If do a cam change would probably need bigger injectors if ECU can handle changes.

If these are built for "industrial" (ramp) use, I would (and this is pure speculation) expect the following.
    good quality components
    Itty bitty cam
    low comp ratio

Screenshot_20231018-151735_Gallery.jpg I recently bought a 5.7 liter Vortec engine that was in a hydraulic pump rig intended to power an oil pump jack. It had 10 hours on it and was literally brand new. Looking at the specs online for the company that outfits the engine for the rig...they indicate steady, low rpm constant use. Looks like a cam swap and valve springs would wake it up. You have to be careful with these types of specific use engines, but sometimes just a little adaptation is all it needs..

Oh, I was looking at the Ford 300 specifically, that one doesn’t seem to list hp

  9. I work on aircraft ground equipment for a living, you will be disappointed with the performance, they are built for governed low speed operation paired with LOTS of gear reduction for hauling dollies loaded with cargo and luggage. Never thought I'd see Ramptech mentioned on here that's for sure. Look elsewhere.
