Hot Rods ran onto these hemis today..... worth ?

    hey i found these old hemis in 2 desotos coupes, maybe 52 or 53? i dont know hemis very well, can someone tell me more about them, size worth, etc....

  2. Those are only 276 cubic inches if they're '52-54, and there's very little aftermarket parts available for them, either current or vintage. Cracked heads were fairly common on them. Worth? IMO, maybe $50 each...

    If they are the original DeSoto engines they would be 276 cubic inches. Best part is they do not have the long bell housing block extension common to the '51/'53 Chrysler models. I expect Egge Machine could provide rebuild parts for them. They are expensive to rebuild though, so one would want them 'cheep'!

    The grilles and front bumper pans for those cars are very valuable if they're intact. Probably worth more than the engines.

    However, im sure you'd get $200-$300 each for those 276 engines, the valve covers are worth more than $50
