Well, I have finally found all the replacement parts for the Wagon and they are piled nicely in the back of the Ranch Wagon, I spent most of the day Sunday removing the radiator, getting the radiator out seemed like I had to remove the tail pipe and front seat to get it out, not really but you guys know how one thing leads to another when you are trying to remove a part, especially working around smashed sheet metal and structural supports. I even had Brenda helping me get it out, the Walker radiator in the truck and will go to the radiator shop tomorrow when they reopen to get it recored, I will also need a new air conditioner condenser. My part of the work is finished I'm just waiting for a call from the shop that is going to do the repair work on the car. HRP
Great to hear you are making progress on the wagon! I just replaced the radiator in my Country Squire so I feel your pain. A guy with a 6 foot arm and 3 elbows would struggle to get the bottom bolts in .
I love wagons, that started in 1964 when I was given a1957 Ford 2D wagon with bad/brocken 6cly; that I replaced with a 292V8 Y,,, That too turned out,I had get more stuff then I though from junk car,the 292Y came from... Keep plugging along !!
Had no doubt that recovery would be eminent. Just hoping it doesn't get any more complex. Spring is coming
We're all anxious to see your response to this post saying "It's done. Brenda and I went for burgers and Cokes in it this evening."
Believe it or not I spent more money paying for the freight getting the used parts to my door, and the parts Came from all over the country, a few N.O.S. parts but most are used and some rechromed. HRP
Alright! Parts are getting harder to find for some cars, so it seems that hurdle has been attained. The cost of things is another one, but if you want/need it done it hurts a bit! Looking forward to the finished product.
I've had a few Hambers ask me why not replace the damaged radiator with a aluminum radiator, I prefer the copper/brass radiators like what the car came with, besides they are traditional and to me look right. HRP
Dad bought used 55 or 56 ranch wagon in about 1960. Brother & I beat on that thing: 3 on the tree with 4 barrel. Ate exhaust system fast then sounded great. Always remember light brown interior had cattle brand marks, thus a “ranch wagon”
Looking at your pictures I’ve never seen such clean and shiny smashed up parts You know you could’ve just kept it as is and called it Kustom You will have a good feeling when it’s all fixed
