Your photos are really beautiful, thanks for stepping it up.Rob's Lincoln is bad ass. Pays to meet scrappers in out state Nebraska. The engine spent it's first 60 years in a Fford dump truck.Seeing what gets done with the stuff we get from him,he's happy to contact us with more. We're happy too.:)

This is the 29th annual event in name but the 5th year here in our town. The promoter Jerry Titus said it has grown in size and quality since moving here. We are right in the middle of the country. Another thing worth mentioning is that back in the 60's there was an Air Force Base here named Schilling Air Force Base. Alot of those old customizers from Wichita were stationed here and had fond memories of their youth here. Sort of a homecoming for some of them.

It was fun meeting Aaron and making a pass with the PUNK.
What a weekend. Drove my wagon 3 hours went to the drags, got to race the Atomic Punk (with Barris flaggin' us), enjoy some great cars and builders then turn around and listen to the roar of open headers for three hours all over again heading back home!!!
The Atomic Punk is NO show car....it is a damn rocket too!!! More power to builders that build a piece of art AND run 'em like HELL!!!

  20. It was a fun show. Friday started out with a local asking "Where's the show?" Someone in the group replied "Some park on 9th." With that the local responded with "Oh, the fag park" and started laughing. I didn't think anything else about it until I started looking at the ground that afternoon. I noticed quite a few condom wrappers on the ground. The topper was the "GWM seeks GWM with a phone #" scrawled on a post at the registration pavilion. Alright, I'll throw my pics up here.

This 'box was probably the best one at the park (my opinion):

P.F./Paul, cool posts Bro., really was great seeing you at the spectacular. All of our Omaha bunch had a real blast, it was a very special event. I was thrilled to see Charlie Gracie, and Brians band backed him so well. Always a thrill to rub elbows with the plethora of heros and icons attending this show. Gambino the great autographed my copy of Gearhead mag and I was stoked, it was so cool seeing him with Master Hines on the car chop and custom work. Really a nice turnout for the meet and greet, neat-o. And of course the Tejas ruffians always add to any event, so sorry for Lee Pratt on his mishap, he was smiling and gracious even after that big set back, class!! Drags were a hoot again, so cool to see your bud Joe storm his sedan down the track, sweet!! Could yap about this event for days. Thanx for a great time to all involved, entire staff was super!! ~Sololobo~

O.K. (JK) I will ask, What is a Flocked top? I have never seen one before or heard of one.
It looks like flat black or velvet,I cant say that I like it, but what is it?

It's sorta like a sprayed on velvet top, but there's different stories as to how it's done ??? That Nomad was built by Ron Kester (Ron's Restoration in Glade KS ) in 1967 and remains unchanged.....It was recently pulled out of storage and tuned up.

  25. I kept telling the lady that was driving it "I want to touch it, but, I know I shouldn't".

Okay I'm done uploading the pics....554 pics total.... I may have a mental issue I'm thinking.

I'll start transferring my videos of the drags tonight and I'll edit them hopefully tomorrow night.

Great to meet everyone, hope you enjoy the pics and there is a slideshow feature on the page if you want to just sit back and watch.

Had a great time at the show with our 50 nash but the highlight was when our son got Joyce DeWitts pick for his 57 pickup. It was an emotional moment for us. We will be back next year. It was great meeting some of you at the meet and greet.

That's not playing fair, I have to get up at 03:10 in the morning for work, it is 20:55 and I can't stay up to check your photos. Bookmarked and waiting for some slack time at work tomorrow.

Great photos folks and a great thread. It makes one feel that he really needs to make the trip when the truck is done and up to snuff.
