Random ramblings from overseas

  1. sitting here in bahrain and going through some threads with pictures of the states, got me thinking of home and how great it truly is. im not talking about government or anything like that im talking about the people and scenery. family, your always gonna miss family but the one thing i miss most is common interest with people, having a conversation with a complete stranger and them telling you about "back in the day" or "when i was younger" and relating to it even though im a third of their age. now it isnt bad over here its actually pretty nice just not home. so on a leaving note, love what you got, dont miss out on anything and appreciate everything......oh and dont forget where home is... thanks for reading

    Thanks for your sacrifice.

I feel for you. I spent a lot of time in Bahrain in the mid '90's and even more time on "sandbox liberty" in Jebel Ali / Dubai.

It ****s now, but you'll be back a**** family & gearheads soon.

Thanks for your service. Just hang in there, you will be back home before you know it. Like myself and a lot of other folks here, we went through the same thing in the 60,s only in a different place. Stan

I remember that feeling well. I used to sit in the barracks and read the same old Hot Rod magazine over and over again, daydreaming of what I would be doing back in "the world". Hang in there, one day you will be old like me and today will just be one of your many memories. And keep track of your buddies, one day you will wonder what happened to all of them.
