  1. You know, I've lived in my house for 20 freakin years. Most of that time I rode a shovel with obnoxiously loud drag pipes, played loud music, worked late in the garage or on the house, CHRIST I,ve got 4 kids that aint quiet !!I've never had one person complain about anything, in fact all my neighbors think that I'm the BLOCK CAPTAIN.Now the ONE time I take the 36 around the block with the headers uncorked, someone calls the man. Most all of my neighbors know and respect me as I'm a really good guy, I help all the old folks out and have a VERY good relationship with just about everyone. Why after all these years is someone getting bunged up over a bit of beautiful music? Could it be that there are RENTERS moving in and jazzing up the neighbor-hood? Are any of you guys experiencing the same problem lately? I mean , compaired to the loud rap music and drunkin brawls at the weee hours, I'm freakin tame. Jeeez , we HOT RODDERs just cant catch a break !!!! MIke.

Most likely new neighbours , I have heard many a story of people moving into a neighbourhood then complaing about something thats been a certain way for years . Many a race track has shut down because of people like that .

some people can be bitches for the most ignorant reasons or how their day went..I wouldnt take it personal..
than again i guess it depends on how often you do this and at what time of the day..maybe you got a 2nd shift worker in your hood now, and its fucking with his down time..just a thought

  4. My block has been pretty much established for a while but with the poor economy and declining home sales, there are several renters on the block now. Its my thought that it is the renters that are calling. Its a shame that some people move in , dont own the shack and complain about shit. Its a good thing that I work for the town and know most of the fuzz, but all in all its still a pisser. Mike.

Be nice to the cops who come out, they are most likely on your side. Every time they respond to a call they have to write a report. If you have been there 20 years I'm sure they know who you are and are relatively? harmless? Eventually they will get sick of the d-bag neighbor who calls every time a bird farts and they will just stop by a give you a verbal warning. Same thing happened a my folks, 3 times this summer, now they know the new psyco lady and they stop just to get her to stop calling. Like Baggs said "At least you don't have a nice quiet hobby like making meth."

did oak lawn do anything or did they just wanna bench race with ya? a few years back i had a t/a with open headers and when they showed up they just wanted to shoot the bull about how they raced a 55 the other night.

  7. I dont know if they wanted to shoot the shit or not as I was at the gas station when they showed up. My son said that there were two squads and a unmarked out in front of the house -- a big crime, HAHA. As I said , I've worked here for the village for 22 years and know most of the guys so I feel that I could use my PULL to get out of trouble if need be. It just pisses me off that some new people can be suck jagmoes!!! I guess I'll just have to turn it up a notch. Mike.

Sounds to me like you just defined your own problem.

Exactly why is it that every asshole that wants to listen to their version of "beautiful music" feel the need to inflict it upon everyone else in as wide an area as possible?

    And now you're whining ......????

Man, you got some balls, I'll give ya that!

yeah i've lived in beverly for most of my life, and its a shame the way things are shapin out to be round here. i myself am moving in a week but i really hate seeing such nice neighborhoods go to shit.

  10. Balls my ass, just about everyone of my neighbors has come to me from one time or another and I have helped them out without question. Either lending money, fixing something in their house or whatever, no questions asked. MY wife plans and runs the yearly block party, sets up the yearly christmas party for the block , etc. I could see if I was a total prick to these people but JESUS I bend over backwards for them because I was taught to do it. They know that I work for the village and have no problem asking for favors and such and I try to do my best to help. Most if not all of the guys and kids on the block think that my shit is prettyy neat , so I dont think your comment is warranted in this instance. MY scoots been gone for 4 years and this is the first time that I've run the pipes open, as far as I can see the long timers on the block have nothing to complain about.

  11. Gotta be honest I've had some 9 and 10 second cars and I never ran open headers ever. I don't like loud HD's either they wake up my 2 and 4 old boys.

A guy parked an open header rat road at my work parking lot Erie/Wells in River North and it was crazy loud and the sound was bouncing off all the buildings. I'm pretty sure my 420hp Trailblazer SS is quicker than his hot rod... And your open header 36. :)

There's a neighborhood here in louisville called "Butchertown"... Guess what the mejor employer there is... Yep, a slaughterhouse and meat packing plant.

Several of the new neighborhood residents are working to get the plant shut down cuz they dont like the smell of the livestock that rolls into the facility.

Nevermind that it's been there for over 100 years.
Nevermind that it employs several hundred people
Nevermind that it pays over a million dollars in taxes to the city every year.

Jeez... WTF??? Why in the hell would these weenies move to a community called Butchertown if they didn't care for the idea of animals being butchered? Do they really think that these animals die natural deaths at the end of a long life and then just fall into those neat tidy little plastic packages in the grocery store?

  13. Periah, my wife grew up in Beverly, 101st and Wood Street. Her maiden name is Majka. I dont know if the name is familiar, as all of her siblings are older. All the boys went to Carmel. If youyre in the area, my brother in law owns CORK & KERRY so stop in and grab a brew. Mike.

i was there last friday, place looks great now!! it was my first time since the new dinnin room was built. im a little young (24) but my family has been in this area for sometime. maybe the name Barrett rings a bell? my brother went to Carmel, and quite a few of my buddies as well. i hate to leave a place with so much heritage, especially as personal as some of it gets but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

  17. You know what PRO STOCK, my 03 Yukon is probably faster than my 36 but this was a one time thing as I had nothing else to do tonite. My car is NOT a rat rod and I'm not a low life shit head, sorry to disappoint you. I dont get my jollies by annoying my neighbors but there has to be one guy on the block that goes against the grain and that guy is me. AND up until now all MY neighbors thought that was OK.

Well I can see your point. People move to the sub. to get away then want to bring big city rules WTF.. I have a neighbor that lives at the end of the road my house is at the other end of the street. he complained that my cars where eye sores so he had the cops and zoneing come by and give me crap I had to go to court and pay a fine. Now heres wher it gets good. I had to get my cars under roof. So ok I'm building a lean to and my house burns to the ground. I stop on the lean to and build my house for my wife and 4 kids. The asshole calls the cops and zoneing back out and they tell my the cars have to go and if I don't they'll fine me 100 bucks a day. I tell them my house just burnt and point to my house they tell me thats not there problem its mine WTF..... SO I crush about 15 cars and part nothing newer than 55 all went to the crusher. Now I have sold my old house and bought one that he can see And I'm building a encloser that is for my junk cars that he can see with lights in it so it's lite up at night and i'm puting the junkiest cars I can fine.So when he looks out his window and he'll see it... Pay back is so Sweet aready talked to zoneing and got the OK...... So like I said I fell you pain oh and I've lived here on this road for 27 years

Like was said earlier about having tracks shut down, I have one of the top dirt tracks in the country nearby and people move in knowing it's in ear shot, but then want to shut it down because they don't care for it AFTER they move in. So far, it's surviving.

There are some Mustangs and Vettes and one 63 Comet nearby, but most people use me as a landmark for directions. They tell people "I live 3 doors up from the 50's cars you'll see coming into the developement. Nothing but horn honking and waves here so far. And my one car has straight pipes. The other is bullet glasspack. I have one noisy dog next door. I think my the people around me would rather hear the rumble of a finely tuned engine............

Have you checked? Maybe Raid has an asshole spray?................... Good luck

Dont let it bother you.. most cops are cool they know people bitch.. The caller probibly made it sound like you were racing up the street... and the cops were board...

I had a freind who lived in a nice neighborhood but ran a dirt car. we would all be over there working on it several nights a week (if we crunched it) usually we quit about 10 as we all had to work the next day.. the compressor was arround back and the only sound in the garage was a small radio and the welder/torch.

About once a week the cops would show up to BS they were cool they knew the drill. Someone in the neighborhood had called and they had to respond,, after awhile the cop told us who it was...

so we went a talked to them tried to make nice, but that didn't solve the problem so we made freinds with the cops and they informed the people reporting us that we were doing nothing wrong and if they kept calling for no reason the police would bill them for the call.. that stopped it...

dont let it sour your attitude and who you are .....

some people are like bolts on my cruiser they need a big hammer and a little heat to get along...
