We had a '65 Aussie Futura (Falcon)- 200/auto, Parchment buckets, Ivy green- and factory Ford portable (pull out) pic-nic radio.
Everybody's got to be a smart ass. Which is amusing when you're right, but there are threads here and at Chevytalk.org detailing the sedan delivery (lift gate at the rear, no tailgate) with side windows as an option.
Owned a '69 Firebird 400 up until 3 years ago when I sold it at B-J auction in Phoenix. I was the 3rd owner from new. Original paint and 37,000 miles. It was a factory ordered 3 speed stick on the floor, p.steering and p. Brakes only. No other options. Never seen another 3 speed 400 ever in a F.bird. In the middle 60's after graduating high school my ride was a '57 BelAir 4 door hardtop. P. Steering, p. rr. antenna, and power windows and a low horse Rochester fuelie engine with Poweglide. Two tone blue and white. I converted it to a 3 speed stick w/aHurst and slipped in an .018 cam for more grunt. Repainted it all white too. Pretty car. Sold t around 1969 for $800 bucks. Thought I made a killing!
In 1969, summertime, I was the lot boy at West End Chevrolet. We received a fleet order of 2 or 3 truck loads of new '69 Bel Air two door post coupes. All were dark green with light green painted roofs with matching light green painted front doors They all had 396" 2 barrel engines with 3 speed fully synchronized column shift boxes. I think they had power steering also. They were ordered for the Massachustts Envioromental Department. I guess they needed 3 speed, 396" cars to chase duck hunters or chase down smog offenders.
Here's a few I have seen,59 Bel Air 2dr w/ factory FI,63 Impala convert 6cyl. 3 speed on the column, bucket seats Had a friend who bought a 65 Impala w/ 396 325 HP 3speed column, it was so new I hadn't even heard of a 396 yet. No other options on this car except am radio, and posi. A few years ago at Back to the Fifties I saw a 61 Olds 2 dr. flat roof sedan, I have seen a few Buick flat roofs of 61 & 62 but that's the only Olds I've ever come across. If North by Northwest is any indication, the Park Service had some '56s: Which later magically converts to a Handyman wagon:
When I was 16, (1965) my dad loaned me the money to buy a 1956 Chevy. ($350). Tudor hardtop, belair, twotone paint, V8 auto, ps, pb, p seat, p windows, factory air with tinted windows. I'm sure its not super rare, but I've never seen one like it. Oh, drove the shit out of it for two years, then sold it for $75. Still ran good.
Didn't buy it, but should have, a '64 Rambler hardtop with factory buckets, console, a/t shifter in the console, ps,pb,ac, pw, pb, 327, 4bbl. No rust original paint that would have rubbed out very well. The guys mother bought it new. Ran, but the fuel pump leaked. $800 in 1992. It was 500 miles away from where I live, no trailer, and I couldn't find one. Another one that got away.
a friend of mine has a 65 convertible, factory bench seat with factory 3 speed. Don't see too many of those
I had a 49 Chevrolet Fleetline with a factory option vacuum operated whistle that blew when you started the motor with the parking brake on.
Here is a picture of my 60 Thunderbird Sunroof owned in the early 70's. Paid $300 for it and drove it home. 2536 produced. A friend of mine has a 60 Thunderbird Sunroof with a 430/3-speed stick although I have read that all 430 came with automatics.
Bought a 69 (OT, I know) special ordered Hemi Super Bee from the original owner. He used the car to tow a drag boat. The car had the trailer towing package and State Patrol Patrol fueling option. A 20 foot hose wrapped around a bracket behind the grille. A petcock was turned and fuel was delivered through the hose to fuel his boat. Sure would like to know who owns now the car as I have original documents that go with the car.
I looked at a car once that had "flow through ventilation". I told the seller that it's proper name was RUST!
When I bought my '55 Chevy Beauville wagon, the original owner gave me a bed for the back. It was 2 pieces, one wide and one narrow, and fit from the tailgate to the front seat. He said it was for camping and came from the dealer when the car was new. My wagon also has the rear seat brackets chrome instead of painted.
A couple Pontiacs I've owned had options I've never seen before or since. 1964 Grand Prix with Chrome Reversed Style Hubcaps that sat into the Wheel with separate Chrome Lugnuts....It was the Dealers Wifes Demo so I knew they were Factory. Also had a 1970 Catalina Hardtop with a 350 and Three Speed on the column and Factory Oil Pressure, Amp Gauge and something else in the Factory Dash........Centurion9
It was common on the tri-five Chevys to order the 210 because it had a nicer interior. All vinyl, no cloth.
Local car lot had a 1970 Olds 88, 350 2 bbl, 3 on the tree, no power steering or brakes, no radio. The only option that we found was 2 tone paint.
It's been a long time since I've seen that movie and I forgot all about that car! Posted using Full box of Crayons on the Kitchen Walls App!
The family of a friend of mine from College had 2 65 Pontiac Grand Prix's with 3-speed floor shifts. I think they would have been Hurst's. Not that rare but a friend who owns a wrecking yard just got in a 62 Chevy BelAir, 6 cylinder, 3-speed with the radio delete. A friend of my brother's races a 53 or 54 Ford with the plexiglass hood insert.

By the time he got the truck, the rubber was all rotted, but the pumps still worked. This truck also had 2 sun visors, day/night rear view mirror, cigerette lighter and factory V8 and 3 speed on the column I have a 55 Cameo with the air seat. It is out now to be recovered if you still need to see one. Cameo option ,6 cyl . Hydro, and seat the only additional options.
I once briefly owned a '65 (I think, this was in 1978) Pontiac 2+2 with a 421 and floor-shift 3-speed. I thought it was an unusual, gorgeous car, but a friend who was a Pontiac fan liked it more. Always try to keep an eye out for another one.
I think these had the standard 389/303 HP motor but would really get out and move. This was in 1968 so they were fairly new.
The Grand Prix base engine was 325hp in 1965, they came with a little more hp than a Catalina. I used to own one, it was a little unusual as it had a bench front seat and column shift automatic transmission - GPs came standard with buckets and a console, but the bench seat was a no cost option. The 2+2 had the 421ci engine as standard equipment.
I had a 59 Chevy Brookwood 2 Door Station Wagon, 6 stick, radio delete, rubber rugs, heater & keys but had a chrome factory tissue dispenser. Go figure.
