I have a older set of Offy's with the shallow tapped plug holes. What is the proper plug depth on a aftermarket head? H10C's screwed into the head and the electrode seems to me a little short in the hole. Reason for asking is I am about to Timesert all 8 holes as a couple have older helicoil repairs. I will take a pic of the heads and post in a few.

Ted Thompson had something similar , he thought it was either a Ron Hogan or Mundell and Slaughter experimental cam. I saw it in the 70s at his place in West Auckland. I know someone who got a load of his stuff after he passed, I will ask if that camshaft was in the pile. It had ES 2 or FS 2 or something similar stamped in the timing gear end of it. ... and had the fuel pump lobe ground off. Jeez the 70s feel like a long time ago.

Looks like a set of Schram air compressor heads on a Ford v8; 4cyl compressor and 4cyl engine. Schram used many different engines up through the years as late as 351w Ford v8..

Just picked up these heads "CUSTOM" for my Coupe's 8ba. Couldn't find any references/images on them. Thoughts?

Arkus-Duntov (Ar-Dun) conversions also addressed another of the Ford V8’s issues by significantly increasing its horsepower. In the end, few if any trucks received them: they were expensive and allegedly required a bit of expert tinkering to work properly. Most Arduns ended up on hot rods and racers with Ford 3.6 litre V8s. Ardun also designed and made a few kits for the V8-60, some of which were exported to France for the Ford Vedette.

These very rare Stephens Valve in In Head Hemi Heads are on a club member's car here in Colorado. Only three sets known to exist. Pictures taken at our All Ford Day show last month.

Now, you have my attention! From the illustration you posted, it looks like these were intended to be used with a standard Ford 2 barrel and FOUR Winfield carburetors.

Look to be racing units to me!.

No, look closer, the Ford 2 bbl is bolted to an adaptor that bolts to the 4 bolt flanges.

I see that in the picture of the engine installed in the car. That appears to be the way the guy was able to "jury-rig" a carburetion setup to be able to run it. The picture from the brochure seems to show exactly what I stated. It doesn't make sense that they would make a manifold for their engine that allowed one one Ford carburetor to be bolted directly on the engine but required adapters for the other two.

If you have ever tried to find 4 matched Winfield carburetors you would understand why he did what he did.

  26. The illustration shows the carburetor adapter in the forward position. It omits them from the rear two for illustrative purposes. The manifolds likely weren't intended to use the Winfield carburetors.

The adapter allows the same manifold "log" to be used on each side and accounts for the fore/aft offset present due to the cylinder head positions and block deck heights. The original ARDUN intake setup utilizes a similar sort of multi-piece design.

After considering your avatar, I will defer to your judgement.
