How about these? Haven't seen any posted (yet). Eddie Meyer 8BA, still with mud and gr*** from the swap meet.
Does this thread display properly for anyone? I can only seem to see the last post, and mine. Gonna refresh my browser. I've got some neat Evans heads I want to add and some questions about running old heads.
Yeah, I have a early and late set of those. I think they are pretty cool and mine are originals without the gr***. Not wanting to sell but how much do you guys think they are worth?
How rare are these? I've seen the copper one's on the McGee roadster buy never one's with aluminum tops.
I've only in person seen 2 sets. I have met 2 different people who tell me that have a set, but these are only ones I can personally verify. These were made in 1936. In 1937 Ford went to water pumps in the block. That made these obsolete. I've owned them over 40 years.
Anybody got any info on these? I found them at the Early Ford Store, Mike said he had never seen them before.
Damn, I never saw or even heard of Lightning heads before. No idea how they perform but they sure do have a cool logo.
The Lightning heads were made by Warren Boardman from Los Angeles. Believe them to be post war. Exactly 12 pairs of heads were cast. I also have a pair of Lightning heads. Warren Boardman talked very slowly and consequently got the nickname "Lightning" from his friends. This is how the name Lightning got to be cast on these heads. Warren Boardman also cast a 2X2 and a 4X2 intake manifold. Again very few were ever made.
