Really?! If it's an original, that is #3 or #4. Funny that he is no relation to Bill Sr. or the family.

Do you know if it is on a motor/in a car or just hangin' on a wall?

It's on the shelf in his office- Look in Hop Up about 3(?) years ago and you'll see a picture of the intake along with an interview.

I'll have to dig and see if I can find it! Was the article about the intake or him in general?

The article wsa about Rick in general and his projects. The intake can be seen in one photo sitting on his desk with carbs and helmet air cleaners on it. Very cool indeed! You're very lucky to own one MrModelT! :D

No kidding! I'm just glad Grandpa held on to it after he got rid of his A-V8 and that Grandma didn't get rid after he passed away!

We found it in a box in the attic and Grandma said "I know you like cars so take it if you want it" Didn't know what I had until I found the photo of it on his car.

That's so cool man. Have you ever seen and Schnell literature? What was the time frame of the original castings?

The article is in Hop Up #8 page 106 FYI.

I believe only 6 to 10 were cast in the original (and possibly only) run that was most likely made between 1949 and 1952. `

I unfortunately don't have any Schnell literature..because I don't think there is any such thing. Everything I know I got from from Bill Sr.'s two sons who still Schnell Automotive.

Here's a n unfinished prototype from Harry Hull's shop. As mentioned before he was famous in these parts for his twinfire V8 sixty midgets, in their various combinations, this is for a sixty also..

I just have the standard Eddie Meyer High rise. The bottom is original, but the riser is a re-pop. The original riser kept cracking and sucking air.

Wow that tall shanafelt is great! I can't say that I have even seen another one ever. The bottom intake I am not so sure how well it would run. How do the runners look in that one??

Saw this in a friends shop no name guessing pre-war by the runner shape and the front of the manifold.
    Race only; no heat riser
Was told it might be a Lightning but the fins go all the way around on this one.
Anyone know what the unusual fuel pump mount is for?
I was also told Thickstun cast the Lightnings so maybe some one-off variant?

Does anyone have any pics of the Tommy Davis homemade 4X2 log manifold he built for his 32 roadster in '40?
I have the Drake shot but it too vague.
