A couple of months ago I was on duty at the firehouse. We were knocked out for a man stuck in the elevator in one of the banks. This specific bank started out as a hotel way back when. It's a cool old building. So we get on scene and mitigate the situation, but I asked the guy what he was doing in the bank on a Sunday? He explained that he works for the bank as their I.T. man, but was there today working on some of his own projects. He invited us to come up to the top floor and check it out. He had a big room on the top floor where he restored electronic stuff, he was working on an old jukebox, but the room was full of old guitars and amps, old record players, etc. But what I was intrigued by was the hundreds of pictures on the walls, all hot rod stuff!! I walked around looking in amazement! I pointed at one of them and said that's the coolest one in here, he told me that it was a Marco Almera, I had no idea what that meant lol. I asked if he would sell it and he said no he didn't sell any of them, he just collects them. So we shook hands, and went on our way. Fast forward to a week ago, we get knocked out for an elderly gentleman that is unresponsive out by his barn. We get on scene, start taking care of the little guy, he comes back around, everything is alright, then his son gets there, it's the guy from the bank. He keeps thanking us for helping his dad, all is good. Tuesday he rings the doorbell at my firehouse, I go to the door, and he says, "I want you to have this, you've come to my rescue, and now my dad's. I was blown away. All I can say is do unto others my friends. 20211209_204237.jpg 20211209_204213.jpg

Great story about how small the world is, two calls with the same family.
Very thoughtful of the computer guy to share the poster.
    Merry Christmas, all!

Went to the Almera gallery to look at getting one for my garage and they are out of stock. May be more rare than you think. Some other cool stuff there though.

This fella had so many killer posters framed, I'd never seen nothing like it. I'm sure most were done by the same guy. This is going in the upholstery shop ;):D

Ya know Lloyd, for all your years of First Responder service, you should have hundreds of these "thank you gifts" . Receiving this poster should be the "norm", rather than the exception. Just sayin';):D

Very nice. See? Not all "no news is good news".

If anyone asks, legitimately now "There was this one time, I saved this gentleman's life..."

Good things come to those who deserve.

We do recieve a lot of cakes, pies, and cookies! That's why I'm fat! Lol. Somebody has to be there, I'm just thankful I've been able to help people. 38 more months to go and I'm hanging it up. A hot rod poster is way cooler than cookies any day

    Awesome pic and gift.

I gotta ask. The bank allows employees to hang around in the building when they're not open. That's very odd.

I thought I was reading a script from a Hallmark Christmas special. A rescue, old guy is OK and a special gift. All it lacked was a tender make out scene.
Seriously….that is a good story, my hats off to you.

You'd have to see the layout of the building. You walk into a foyer, bank entrance on your right, elevator straight in front of you. We weren't inside of the bank.

LOL…I wasn’t even thinking that but it is pretty damn funny. I’m thinking about football right now…fighting the visual.

    That's awesome Lloyd!
One summer we were slammed with interface fires all around the city . It was windy and hot and fires were starting everywhere. We had just got back to the house and a guy comes to the door with 2 big trays of steaks. He was just being appreciative ....it was really nice we had T bones for lunch.
That poster is incredible , it would make a killer t-shirt!
