Rare??? Hmmm??? Between 1928 and '31, Ford made approximately 4,320,446 Model A passenger cars and light trucks......and therefore, obviously about twice that many spindles!!! Mart3406 ===================================
I have several thats are not round, they are a bit square, like the -32 spindels, Thats why i ask if its rare. I now there its a diffrents chassie for the early -28s, they have diffrents brake set up in the chassi, I have several -28s cars and no one of the have the round spindels, thats why i saked, but now i have learnd that they have two types of spindels on the model a. The spindels are cheap and thats good, im built in disk brake on them and its works good. Pics of them i have alot of, so its -30/1 spindels then. Thanks, sorry for bad english!
Okej, im didint read it all, 28-31 same spindels, there must be two types of spindels. But we maybe have another type here in Europe/Sweden?
Early '28 or AR Model A spindles are round back unlike the conventional Model A spindles which are square. Apart from the shape of the back they are identical. Its a small detail that many people don't realise including many restorers. I suppose they are rare but not necessarily valuable. Use 'em and have a neat talking point.
You want to get the some more response about these spindles post this question on the FORDBARN.COM web site under the model A forum. You will have to use photobucket to post picture.
