Not very pretty, but definitely rare.... The full set of wheels off of Smokey Yunik's Motoramic 1955 Chevy stock car. Still painted in their original seafoam green. One has a vintage Goodyear blue streak tire that has never been driven on. How cool is that?

  4. Not sure if these are rare or not. They're 15 x 3.5 or 15 x 4. No name or markings on the backside. Anyone have any info?

  6. Can you post a picture of the back side of the wheel? They look like early M/T medallion before Holley bought them out and made the medallion a smooth slotted wheel. Have they been narrowed or are they cast 4" wide?

  7. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the backside. I sold them because, they were 4.5" bolt pattern and wouldn't fit on my Chevys. I'm sure they weren't narrowed because they never even had tires mounted on them ever. I'm pretty sure they were aluminum.

  14. Hey gang, let's keep this thread on-track; way too many off-topic wheels being posted. Let's focus on HAMB-friendly rolling stock.

  15. Are you sure they are not 16.5" wheels? A manufacturer offering a 17x10 back when these wheels were being made seems unlikely at a time when there were no tires made in a size to fit them.

Classiccar57, the measurement of a wheel is done from the surface the tire touches, not the outside edge of the lip. Your wheels are not 17" diameter. They look like 16" to me. Or maybe even 15" if the aluminum is thick.

More than likely, you have 16" wheels. Other than that I'm not sure how many of them were made, or when they were made. Sorry.

Didn't the early race prepped Cobra's run a similar wheel?

I had found a set of Hollywood (Barris?) Torque Thrust Style wheels a few months ago via Craigslist. I sent my money off to the seller, and it went all quiet.. ugghh.
I finally got my money back, but I really wanted the wheels.

Trying to find the size I need is a lot harder than I anticipated. I am trying to get some new "vintage" shoes for my Corvette... so finding 15x6 4 3/4" Bolt pattern with (and here is the kicker) a 3 1/2"-3 5/8" Back spacing, in a price that won't break the bank, is proving to be difficult.
