The guy who's son owns the SoCal Speed Shop north of Houston (I believe he's one of the Sysco owners) has a m***ive deuce collection. Some of them are rodded and some not. I was fortunate enough to get a short tour of his cars. I think there is around 40 of them. And, if memory serves me, I think Street Rodder did a short article on his collection a couple years ago. He has a B400....it's mildly rodded....the only one I've ever seen up close.
That is the Edsel ford speedster, there are photos of it on another HAMB thread. Most of its life was spent here in Connecticut.

A fellow HAMB member's dad had one of these, I did the exhaust on it. Up untill then I had never seen one.

It's a dirty little 'open secret' that Ford still has at least two plants in ****olia that have been churning out brand new '32 Fords, virtually unchanged, ever since production was transferred there sometime in the late 1940's. Unfortunately, since the cars can't meet current U.S. EPA emissions or fuel economy standards without major modifications, these "****olian Dueces" - euphemistically called "****ueces" or "****aloids", by the the local population, - are only legal for sale in the ****olian" domestic market.. But buyer beware! Most of the "gennie" and near mint, supposed "barn find" '32s you see here on the HAMB and elsewhere nowadays, are actually current production ****olian Fords, purchased on the black market, smuggled out of the country by way of China, and then illegally imported into the U.S. by an evil cabal made up of Japanese Yakuzza and Cuban Secret Service agents. Once here, the cars are resold to Colombian drug dealers as part of a money laundering operation and then foisted off on poor, unsuspecting restorers and hot rodders by a ring of unscrupulous Ebay and Craigslist venders! So please be careful out there, people! Don't get burned! Remember - "Caveat Emptor" - and always, always, always, check for a dead giveaway "Ford of ****olia" firewall tag, before any money changes hands on your next '32 Ford "dream car" purchase! Edsel's Deuce Boattail is being restored currently here in Knoxville. I saw it a week ago. Metalwork is nearing completion. The new fenders & fairings that had to be recreated are amazing. It's not the prettiest thing Edsel ever designed but the work being done on it to get it back right is outrageous. Can't wait to see it done. JH
Dunno much... It was the first of three custom roadsters Edsel had built for himself. More can be found here: http://www.edsel.com/pages/edslford.htm This one languished in New England for years until someone recognized it & identified it as Edsel's. Even after finding out what it was, it sat in the rafters of a body shop for years. The owner p***ed away & a friend of the family (& friend of mine) bought it from them. The original ch***is & running gear was bone stock. It was in terrible condition though. My friend has it on a perfect original ch***is now. Metal work is nearing completion & they are hoping to go to paint in the spring. The owner says he is going to show it extensively when it is completed. He is like most of us though, just a common man. I imagine someone will want it far more than he can afford to deny. JH

I'm guessing that Drauz a was the name of a German custom or semi-custom body builder of the time who built special upscale bodies for Fords (and other?) ch***is?? Also, regarding the German-built 32s' ch***is and mechanicals - were they essentially the same as the 'U.S.-spec' Fords? What about engines - besides the V8, did the German -built cars, also use the standard U.S-style B-model four-banger engine? Mart3406 ==========================

I don't think Bonnie or Clyde owned it. I think someone else owned it and I think he traded it in on another car after it was stolen and recovered....?

Numbers aside whats the rarest now? Iv seen more woodys - deliverys - rpus - b400s than sport coupes. (Never seen one)
harrison,thanks for that link.first i have read that.now for you 32 guys. i know the the 32 boattail is a "32",but is the cowl on the car pictured above a 33-34? or is it a 32 3window?or is it just a hand built cowl? jus wondering for the un-informend like myself. experts?
Young, BIG,guns. These guys are the real deal. The body is all aluminum. From what I can see, they used a stock firewall (that got narrowed @ the top corners) & a stock grille shell (that got heavily modified @ the bottom). The rest of it looks to have been hand made. So..... as rare as it is, I wouldn't put it on anyone's list of "rarest production models". JH
