Well, here are some of the cars from this years rat day. Not quite as good as past ones but still a good day. Enjoy the shit quality until Brootal puts something up.
Cool pics! Hey, at least you posted them. I got to the Cruzin' Eureka, Saturday, the tail end of it right after I got off of work, didn't even have time get home and fetch my camera. The Kodaks in my mind are pretty sweet, it kills me that I forgot to bring the camera to work. Tell more- what's Rat Day? Where was it held?
This is the fourth year for Rat day,It's held in Sydney's southern suburb of Tarren Point at some factory units. This year it was on Father's Day and I felt that the numbers were down a little.
That old time channeled 32 was just bought recently and was in that condition. Been hiding from the world for 35 years.
Thankx Skippy! Love that hudson sled....some nicer aus cars appearing in the last year or so! More style finally showing in my opinion...as in less billet shit! Cheers MAIKI
Hudson is correctomondo, It won top custom, the timewarp channeled 32 took out top open rod,the metalflake '29 took 2nd open rod. Here is the winner of the Day............
Man! Were you standing behind me when I was taking my photos?? Here's a few of mine... Real photos that have been scanned. I guess great minds think alike. Here's that Merc... I mean Hudson from the front. I like this shot. Pity the owner of the coupe is a bit of a nutcase. Some Aussie stuff. An FC wagon and an EK sedan. An FX sedan. Soemthing you don't see to often. Here's that old timey roadster again. It's on a Model A chassis with '39 running gear by the look of it. Including the dashboard. This thing has looked like this for about 20 years according to Carps. I've seen this roadster pickup a couple of times now. I really like the white wheels and caps. Something different. And last and least, the Rod Rider spotted again!!! (You had to be there.)
hEY NICE PICS BROOTAL! Any more pics of that ek sedan? Finishing mine off atm..in purple too! Fuel Filler Gone..just boot lock to remove and rear indicator lense left make... Gotta finishs her so i can start on my rod! Cheers MAIKI
Nope, sorry mate. The guy had just rubbed the paint back, so it was looking a bit worse for wear. It had a light purple body with a darker metallic purple roof. I spoke to the owner and he said he was going to put some jumbo flake on the roof. The door handles were shaved, but with the buttons left on, pretty neat little trick (if you know what I mean) and it had some sort of custom grille, but I'm not sure what he used. The rest of it was pretty stock. Someone else may have some photos of it. Skippy? Drewfus?
cool..thankx Brootal! I'm gonna be running the Ek handless but with scentral locking on the 1/4 vent windows...saves hassles with solenoids/poppers etc etc...Hoping it werks..Once the 1/4 vent windows open..its easy to open door. Cheers MAIKI
Oh, wait, I get it ...... the pictures were taken Upsidedown ...er ... Downunder! ................LOL
Sorry,no shots of Gurus E.K,but I know he has done major little mods on that car, like shortening the quarter glass to give the impression of a longer door. Here are more pics though..........
[ QUOTE ] O.K ,O.K........One last shot of a real purty engine....... Guess you got this one too huh??????? [/ QUOTE ] Yep. Maybe some of you historians out there can fill us in on a few details of this engine. It's twin spark heads (Evans I think) and twin Grant's distributors(?). Must be fun to tune up!!!
The car belonged to the late great Lance Gleeson but is now in the hands of his nephew.Brootal, those twin plug heads you're admiring happen to be Hogan twin plug (New Zealand)and yes twin Grant maggys fire all that spark. This car ran at Castlereagh while I ran around the pits in my nappy.
Hey you two better check your family trees, you might be separated twins or something. I mean damn the not just taking pics of the same cars but at the same angles and everything. Cool show. I like the little ones, you get a chance to mingle - meet people -ask about how they did this and that, just walk around slowly and take it all in. No hurry to see it all - do it all - hear it all - eat - do it all again because the cars are all different after you've already gone through once. I like big shows too, but small ones are always cool in their own way. Anywho, you Aussies got some rad stuff, too bad there isn't a highway to connect us to you....
You are truly a fountain of information Skippy. Pull it out of that big ol sloper and chuck it in a little roadster. Yee HA! I knew I was wrong with the heads, just knew it was a fairly short surname.
