Does anyone have a leaf spring for a model T or model A front suspension thats still got some life left. I'm also lookin for a ford engine block S/B or B/B. Just thought my chances of getting something decent was better here than at the local junk yard.

    thanks,

    rjb

p.s. here's a pic of the soon to be rat rod

    Check the classifieds...
What year it the T? I'm glad you are putting a Ford motor in it, not because I'm necessarily a Ford guy, but some "street rodder" that my cousin works with is building a 1926 "Phone Booth" and he was making alot of horseshit claims. He's going to run a 302 or 347 or something and he said, more than once, that "This will be the ONLY Ford powered 1926 'Phone Booth' in the world" when it is done. ALL the rest have Chevy motors.

This really annoyed me because how does HE know that? He says that his facts are according to some Model T registry, or some*****. How does he know what people that aren't concerned with such***** are building or have built? That's what hot rodding is, buddy.
He's doing all the work (and spending alot of money on chrome) and he probably knows more than me, but it's just going to be a tacky 80's looking "street rod" when it's done. He also kept throwing out the phrase, "I'll have $20,000 invested and I'll be able to sell it for $100,000."

Sorry for the rant. I'd like to take pics of yours to him sometime before he starts to feel too special.

What an idiot, there are lots of guys that still put ford engines in T's, ever heard of the flathead? thousands of t coupes as well as t buckets sport vintage flatheads! And if making 80,000 were as easy as slapping some chrome around and talking trash we could all be living like KINGS (if you cant tell im being sarcastic, I'd value a rusted heap more than a billet drenched sparklemobile). Anyway mine is a '27. the roof has an appointment with the sawzall coming up soon, I hate the "phone booth" look.

I guess we haven't met. But if you can make your way to KC I got a SB Ford that you can rebuild, maybe it'll run without it.
PM if interested, and consider posting in the classifieds if no one else mentioned it yet.

I have a "T" rear leaf spring, perfect shape. I have a model "A" front spring and hairpins, a banjo rear from a 34'ford with the sping (rear mount) mounted. Sound like anything you might need???
    Let me know.

Hey Deyo, I'm pretty sure in one of the HopUps there was a Black tall T with a SBF init(used to have a 303 olds). I'll see if I can find it and scan some pics for you. Who is this joker that thinks it will be a 100K car?

This guy kept saying 1926 Phone Booth. I just mainly wanted a picture of a 1926 so my cousin could show him and see his reaction. I know what it would be...
And as for the $100k, you're preaching to the choir, that's why I wanted to show this guy up.

I've always used the term to describe low-buck, bare-bones hotrods, mostly model T's or A's. I thought it was a common term.

this is the general style I'm shooting for. chopped and channeled, real low profile. but I'm planning on either a flat black paint jobor flat black with red scallops. and the engine probably wont be that clean, but this is the general shape

I knew what he meant by Phone Booth, I just always preferred the term "Tall T." Is that a FOrd motor in it, or is it a BBC?

Maybe I never noticed before, but tell me that visor is not a stock piece in the very first pick. That******** is a monster, WOW It looks way too big. I was not aware that Ts had visors [IMG]

  24. What a great start on a RAT ROD project!

But it already looks chopped... no?

    Did you chop it?
Are you going to weld your own frame up or buy one?
    Tell us more!

Can't wait until you get more of the pics mocked into place... those are my favorite pics... like once you get all the major parts, set them up on boxes and jack stands. That way you (and everyone else) can get a good idea of what your vison is!

Also, where is the iron cross going to go?

Maybe a big one on the door?

Or multiple ones all over the car?

    Keep up the good work!

I like how honest folks into cars get*****ing***** all the time from guys on here. I know ya gotta get thick skin alright, but sometimes it's just ridiculous how unhelpful people can be.

Good luck on the rat rod. I'm sure it's gonna be a lot of fun when ya got it on the road. PM me on some of the smaller stuff you're looking for... I've got a lot of guys around town that are Ford freaks and might have stuff you need.

I know, it's sad how some people rip on guys who are just here looking for help...

but I sometimes see it as a weeding out process... it gets rid of all the greaser wanna-bees with four doors looking to get into the "scene".

But they are usually pretty easy to spot.

On the other hand... getting "ribbed by germ" should be considered an honor.

I didn't even know they had telephones back then, I guess they did, otherwise there would be no need for boxes.
We used string with tomato soup cans on the ends to communicate with our neighbors who lived within 100 yards of us.
Sometimes you'd pick up the wrong can and get yelled at for waking up Heap Big Ornery Bear.
We didn't have galoshes, we had to wrap our feet in whaleskin. We had hats made of cooter tails.
