Probably the first and only Studebaker pickup I've ever seen that I don't like. Those trucks are so badass stock, with so much potential for customization that I really thought it was impossible to fuck them up. It appears as though I under-estimated the heights of tackiness that some people are able to attain...

One look at the interior, with all of it's gee-gaw add-on clutter, and you get the impression of where he went wrong with the rest of the truck. Too over the top. Too many mediocre ideas piled on top of eachother. So many, in fact, that the truck's original cleanliness and lines are completely lost.

I suppose it's salvagable, but one would have an easier time starting with a stock truck and doing it right the first time.

Well....I take that back after I clicked the link.

That interior is chrome ass and what is going on with the bed of the truck?
He should have put the money he spent on that interior into his engine bay instead.

    That's fucked.

early 50's style kustom, little much, but it's wild lookin'..I wouldn't think of it as a rat though..hell most of us could only afford or be able to find one of the trim pieces he used ..he's got em all- 1950 BUICK GRILL 55CADDY BUMPERS- dags are cool!,REAR BUMPER IS NARROWED 57 BUICK FRONT BUMPER (mopar headlights??)if it was mine the TOYOTA? drivetrain would have to go

  11. Based just on the picture that was posted, I thought it was pretty cool looking in a cartoon-meets-scale-model kind of way... then I made the mistake of clicking on the link, and exposing myself to the full scope of this nightmare. The rear end is bad, the interior is even worse, and to top it all off the entire chassis/drivetrain is all fucking Toyota. Toyota, fer chrissakes. Nothing goes together as well as Toyotas and traditional customs... except maybe turpentine and waffles... or babies and handguns. Yuck.

  12. Little too much "change for the sake of change". That interior is debris.-MIKE:(

Not my taste, but it is wild. That's for sure. You'd be noticed everywhere you go and you'd get a reaction, whether is be good or bad. It's definitely NOT a rat rod though. It appears to be of relatively sound construction

  15. I like it, I dont care for the interior at all too busy, and skirts and wheel opening in the rear need to be rounded. As for the Toyota running gear, I dont realy care what is powering a custom, it is not a Hot Rod it is a custom I remember when you never opened the hood of a custom as it was just an old motor mostly whatever was in the original car, most of the time not even cleaned. Now if I am building a Hot Rod then I want to get the most HP for the money. If I want a traditional Rod then I want a period correct power plant. But a custom, if it will go 70mph thats all I care, generaly their not really comfortable to drive so the more dependable it is the more it gets driven.

I kinda like it. I think it would look better if the front fenders were extended like the rears. kinda like a 50's buick.

it's to busy for my taste... but have to respect all the work.... I bet it gets good gas mileage being a Toyota and all

  18. yeah, there is already a thread on here about this one, asking "ever heard of Tony Farnetti", he is actually a great builder, but yes this truck is well to be nice not my thing, and I hate the Toyota drivetrain.

why a toyota drivetrain? if you're that desperate wouln't a some salvaged chevy nova parts be better and even easier to find?

also, is any of the truck actually metal? something is screaming plastic or fiberglass at least in the front of the truck.

Rip out the drive train, throw in a supercharged stude motor... simplify the interior a little and it would be pretty cool.

  27. that is what customs looked like at the time when customs were falling from favor........and that is what customs look like in general to us non custom lovers.......:) Its an aquired taste or lack of taste which ever you decide to call it.

it can be overdone or only if subtly applied, can look great..........usually overdone;)
