At least the car will get a restoration.I can't own everything,so I tend to live vicariously through the deep pocketed people that I only hope will stay true to the original customization.

Ryan should start a HAMB museum. Traditional Rods and Customs would be accepted from generous donors, willed by HAMBers for the cause or donated by (undeserving) auto museums that have no REAL interest, love or knowledge of the genre.

Museum would be maintained by renting out cars at the rate of a couple hundred bucks a day (screw renting Vettes and exotics in Vegas). Special week rates for Rod Runs.[/QUOTE]

    I'm in.

I have always figured that once a person sells something, they do not own it anymore and they have sold their right to have a say as to what happens to it. I feel better about it when I can sell it to a good home, but when it really comes down to it, if I really cared that much about it, I would keep it myself and be the caretaker.

Now, that said, I do not think that I will ever donate anything to a museum, I have seen too many of them take in items that they say they will display and cherish etc, then shove it in the back never to been seen or worse I know of quite a few that have s****ped out items because the new administration has a different view of where they want to go with the museum. I do not trust them, they are typically made up of a board of people and when you get more than one person in charge, bad things tend to happen.

I hope that the Petersen is doing the right thing and I hope that they can put more cars on display vs stashed away.

I thought the late Mrs. Peterson allocated a ton of money to the museum before she died. Also, didn't she put some trust worthy board together to oversee her vision? Maybe I'm thinking something different... Or the "suits" just plain don't give a ****...

And Mark got the Vette. He's just gonna debut his restoration in Mad Fabricator's Society #10 and get a huge cut of the DVD sales...it's all a big conspiracy...

I talked to Shuten and he said that Galpin bought several cars including the Boot Hill Express and the Stage Fright.

I can't believe that S****e went that Cheap. Everyone must have thought that it was going to go for a lot more and didn't watch it sell or something.....
