As amazing as this land-speed-er of Mr. Keech's is ...what about the VERY COOL "T" Hot-Rod to the right ?? Sans Fenders, Big"Ballon" Tires, No rear body and..
Thanks for posting this film of Ray Keech! Great to see him in action! Wife's family is related as her grandmother was a Keech and Ray was her Uncle. He is still talked about in the family to this day and his tragic death at Altoona, following the win at the 29 Indy race. The Eastern Museum of Motor Racing outside Dillsburg Pa., has a great archive file on him and pieces of the Altoona board track. There is film of his death at Altoona, but it is no longer on YouTube. If anyone has that, it would be appreciated by the family. There is rumor that his 29 Indy Simplex #2, although wrecked, was rebuilt and may still exist somewhere in Florida. If anyone knows about that car please post it. The love of cars is still very strong in the family. It was the Keech story that inspired my son (15) to start a T speedster, hence our joining the HAMB. All the best to the HAMB community for keeping it all going, Retrolad
