Found some good info here on rearching leaf springs:

    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90824

but ,would like to know if with a "5 pack" spring set, do all the springs require rearching to gain a lowered ride, or can just the main leaf spring be rearched and that be enough...?

I have also heard that removal of the #3 spring will also accomplish a lowered effect...but I am concerned with the soft resulting ride.

    Thanks........

Really depends on how much arch the other springs have, but since you have to break the set down to do the main, might as well flatten the others as well.

If you remove a leaf from the spring pack, it does make a softer ride. De-arching the springs often makes them softer also. Weather or not its too soft has way too many variables, like weight involved, the size and thickness of the remaining leafs, and exactly how soft is too much? Gene
