have you thought about adding a second upper grill bar (flipped upside down) to allow for equal space around the smooth center bar.

Please give details on how you made these. Did you start with pleated material and just cover a form or did you sew them yourself? Just curious for my interior work coming this Spring/Summer. Always looking for a low buck way to do it. Thanks!!
I bought pre sewn pleated vinyl from great lakes skipper here in Racine Wisconsin. Check out there website. 1)Made templates out of carboard. 2)Traced patterns onto masonute board. 3)Cut the vinyle about a minimum of an 1" bigger than the board. 4) Then used conact cement brushed on the board and a little on the vinyle foam. 5) i then folded each edge and stapled tbe vinyle to the back.
