I'm ditching my old account (reprisal). Figured I'd better re-introduce myself before the intro-police come down on me I've been into cars on some level practically from birth but I didn't take a big intrest in rods and customs until just a few years ago. Even though I didn't have the nessesary tools, money, space, experience, or skill I decided I wanted to build a rod, and when I came accross a complete '38 Ford pickup for $500 I bought it on impulse....probably not the smartest thing I've ever done. I was pretty commited to it right off the bat, started tearing stuff apart and did some work on the frame before I even had a real clear idea of what I wanted it to look like. That was my first mistake (well, 2nd if you coun't buying the truck..heh), the second was starting to build before i even had half the parts to do a mock-up. Ah well, live and learn. So I took a break from it. I was still determined to see the project through so I gave it some thought and came up with a design that I think will look cool. I've collected some parts and I'm getting back to work on it. I've learned a ton already about wleding, fabrication, metalshaping, and hot rodding in general from the HAMB and from other sources, but I still have a looong way to go. I'd like to get the pickup together and on the road this coming summer, but getting it done right is more important to me so there's no big rush. Just gotta keep myself motivated and try to avoid frustrating set-backs. With a rescorce like the HAMB that shouldn't be too hard -Bones
