I know this has been covered in the past, but I am ready to bite the bullet and have front and rear bumpers on my 55 Country Squire replated. Live in N. Cali... any suggestions or recomendations?

What ever you decide do- Do not use Bumper Boyz.

Since your in California I would talk to the people at Lemon Grove Plating, I have had work done but them in the past and it was beautiful. HRP

If you want the real deal...they are expensive - but the best I have found is Artistic Plating in Signal Hill, CA. (same family since 1953) They do most of Foose's work as well...artisticsilverplating.com

    Huh??.......you're losin' it Danny, lol.
If you do big swap meets, I got my front bumper and grille from "the Bumper Shop", and after 5 years, still very happy with them. Not to be confused with the "Bumper Boys" Danny mentioned.Advantage of swap meet buys is you can look at it before you buy/pay. I looked at 3 or 4 different bumpers at different times before I picked the one I bought. I had a card for another shop in California that a friend used to plate his bumpers. Good work, good priceing. My wife washed my wallet in my jeans a few months ago and I lost all my cards. It was something like "B &R plating

Also not a bad idea to attend some of your local "Cruise Ins" and ask folks where they had their's done if the quality looks good.

    Tri-City Plating in Elizabethan, Tennessee.

That;s where I got my bumpers from, you can have yours re-chromed or swap yours for freshly finished if thy have them in stock, I was able to leave with what I needed and they gave me a hundred dollar discount for my bent and rusty bumpers.

I got mine 9 years ago and they still look brand new. HRP
