B.T.W. I think I did everything right. At least I dig the way everything turned out.

Now how about sharing the most unlikely places to find those gems we've repurposesd. Have a Habitat for Humanty retail outlet that never fails to surprise me . Get some strange donations there! Also found some interesting things in small out of the mainstream antique shops.

My Dad grew up during the depression and as kids my Brother and I were always finding ways to make something out of nothing like our Dad did.
I still enjoy looking at an object and seeing it as something else. My Grandchildren were my inspiration for some of my ideas. I was a part owner in a junkyard for several years and found numerous treasures to reincarnate.
The bikes and cars were rusted and busted up total **** when I brought them home but when they were done the joy the Grandsons got out of them was priceless. The last one is not exactly "horsepower" related. It is a combination of "found at the curb" and items from garage sales and thrift stores. This will be going to my first Granddaughter for her room when she is born later this year.

Awesome work! Nothing better than giving something to the grand children made with your own hands. They will treasure them forever unlike, the plastic boxed items so soon forgotten.

  7. One of the main reasons I call my car Alphabet Soup. Is because it has parts from at least 12 different cars on it. A few I used as they were. But the rest had to be modified to work.

I guess this will fit in this thread.I needed a swivel style steering column mount for my shoebox project.
I have the OEM '51 automatic column and the column diameter is 2 1/8.Most of the swivel style column mounts are for 2" or 2½" thick columns,so decided to make own.
I made it from stainless 2" ballvalves ball, the 2" hole is machined as 2 1/8":

IMG_4176.JPG S**** lumber & a trip to the pasture. Now I've a place for my older car guy pals & customers with knee replacements to sit when they come see me at work. Surprisingly comfy too. Flux

Some cool stuff. I think my whole rod was re-purposed,lol. I have a pile of those T running boards I was always going to do something with. Good idea.
