My 30/31 Model-A coupe has had the rearmost part of the trunk re-worked. No longer does it have the rear inner panel that lets water from the rain gutters on either side of the trunk opening simply drain onto the ground. It has been re-worked, by a buddy who I really appreciate, to put a flat floor all the way back to the taillight panel. I like this, in that it adds quite a bit of room to the trunk area, something that I really like because I have filled the trunk with my gas tank! But, I'm figuring that anytime the car is caught in a shower, or when I wash the car, the trunk is gonna get a lot of water inside. I'm mostly concerned that the inner lip is lower than the outer lip, so the path of least resistance is for water to go INTO the trunk instead of out. How have y'all other Model-A owners reworked the trunk latch area to help keep water out?
Maybe add metal from floor up to the top edge of the opening. Then make a couple of drains in the flat floor. Worked fairly well on my old coupe.
