Reading threads....you ever hold back on a reply?

So it seems it depends on who it is that has any sense of humour or satire.

I have seen way less relevant threads run for weeks on here.

    Whatever.

Harms Way, do you know what that guy in the picture did in his former profession? If you don't it will knock your socks off. Look him up.

i thought working on cars and playing on the internet was a hobby.some of you take this way to serious.we need to gather 12 members with the most knowledge and put them on a super committee and see if we can get to the root cause of this problem

That's the problem with the internet. Bullshit suddenly becomes "factual" because you read it....

Yep,.. I know the rumors and the truth,... The fact is, I believe Fred Rogers lived a exemplary life, was passionate about his faith, and worried little kids would loose a special part of growing up, in a "Television babysitter world".

Lots of jokes and innuendo, rumors & wild stories, (Not unlike 3wLarry :D) but the fact remains,... I would be honored to have a good man like this as my neighbor. (either one of them,... Ah,.. but with 3wLarry, I would have to keep an inventory of my 32 parts )

  8. i heard he only did the show to support his hobby of building rat rods in his garage:eek::D

I enjoy this site , but it is a little hard to figure out at times. Someone who might mention rat rods usually goes down in flames , but threads about Walmart batteries, parts store help, or spelling can go on forever. There seem to be a few here that are more interested in being critical than helpful. John

While I'd rather share or help, I'm guilty at times. Chill Phil pretty much nailed it about being like a garage. Sometimes you get those who you don't care much for stopping by, but you let em hang out anyways. Certain things I speak too much of my mind about and I've been warned by management for it. Sometimes I get a few PMs that agree with what I said even though they might not say it. If you try to remember your old-fashioned manners, excercise a minor degree of tolerance and patience, none of the bullshit matters too much. Best to let it go.

Then again, who started this fuckin shit? And we gotta have Mr Rodgers in on it? WTF over...?

I'm on here on and off and rarely post. I have little in the way of technical advice to offer, and being relatively new I doubt my opinion on stuff matters all that much.

This is an internet forum, and like all of them, has some really knowledgable posters, some who post bullshit, some are downright ignorant, some who are clueless and the random idiot that just does not play well with others.

You have to be able to figure out which ones are which, then it all makes sense.

As far as the HAMB goes, it is one of the better ones, well Moderated (I've had one topic deleted, I even titled it O/T and one post deleted; it seems that I pointed out that the Emperor had no clothes..) and has more than its share of good information, which is why I spend a lot time here.

One thing that does amaze me is the number of people that jump into a thread without reading all of the replies - even if it is only 2 or 3 pages long.

That's hilarious that people conjured stories of paramilitary exploits and hung them on Fred Rogers?
Mr Rogers was a Channel 4 Pittsburgh TV children's program personality.
My buddy Brian was a floor producer who worked with him for a time and no,there were no "sleeve" tattoos.
    Rogers was a Chevrolet man,tho.

Now Bea Arthur, there was a Marine!

there are some that think they can be rude to someone in a PM and they will not respond in kind, it's not true

i really wish i would not of responded to the flathead sbc thread.. damn my pain meds.. i had so much running through my head on that topic and just could not articulate my thoughts in a coherent enough manor to get my point across( hell if anyone could get a point across since the whole thread was posted based on wanting opinions aka feed back.. some how that became fact.. i missed the memo). i wish i would of hit the del button.. but alas i did not.. i still do not know how a sbc is considered boring ( hell any engine for the matter.. i guess i would have to have had a car in one car show to maybe understand such mentality?). and a flathead can go to the moon now and do it with style and zero maintenance issues.
should probably use the del button now.. but im still young and dumb and full of it so what the hell.. i hope everyone is having a great day.. its raining here in the desert.. i think the world could end today.. better go out to the shop and get a beer and your fav wrench in hand just in case :d the desert needs the water tho so ill risk the chance the earth could end today so our little cactus plants can get some drink@@

My favorite are the HAMB police over:

    ....use the search function.
....intro before you post a word.
    ....spelling and punctuation.
    ....this has been posted before.

They usually post one of the comments within five minutes of a thread. Forget the FNGs, these self-deemed police are the folks with thousands of threads!

Exactly the way I feel about the subject. But I do try to avoid the drama threads when possible. I guess after 50 years of participation in this hobby I'm more interested in how others are doing it not why:rolleyes:

I stated a few days ago that I thought guys refrained from posting build pics and ideas because they didn't want to have to defend themselves from the 'peanut gallery'. This was on a thread where a vet here posted some good tech and a know it all newb (who obviously didn't understand what he was looking at) criticized it REPEATEDLY.

What's funny is I have half a dozen guys here on 'ignore' and it's not unusual for ALL of them to post their useless drivel on the same pointless threads.

  26. Firefox has free spell check.. the word you've misspelled becomes underlined in red. Right click on it, choose the word that best represents wtf you're trying to say & click on it! Done

Just did it before this thread. FNG with 2 posts and no intro. Finally remembering to check stats on newbies before answering there issues and not to reply and say Do An Intro. Just let the thread die as it goes futher and further down the page. Just my Asshole oppinion :D

I use it all the time to cover me but I never knew about the right click deal. That will save me a lot of time substituting letters to get it right. Coolest thing since sliced bread.
