Time sure flies but I can't wait. There are still a few little things I need to resolve and do.

I think I finally have a handle on an upper rpm ignition miss. Stupid DPST switch.

Last night I went to try the slicks on the coupe and realized my wheel studs are to short for those wheels. :-/ Got the slicks dismounted at lunch and the wheels are going to see some lathe time and get a bit thinner at the mounting surface tonight.

    Still need to change oil.

I need to get some new rear tires and bubble balance them. I've been a little hard on the old ones.

Still have some spare parts and tool packing to do.

Still need to mount this years Alliance tag.

    Lots of cleanup.

What all do you guys need to get done before the drags?

    Still need a plan!

Pickup the new drive shaft from the shop and install.
Find wheels with less back spacing.
Modify tracktion bar spring clamp where they interfere with the tires.
    Get new tubes for slicks.
    Get slicks mounted.
Get a new 5 point harness.

And, I am going to be out of town the next week or more.

Gonna change the gears in my 64 chevy wagon from 355's to 411's. Just doesn't come off the line like I want it to ( maybe cause it weighs bout a million pounds ) Might force me to trailor it or else it will just be a long slow drive. A little fine tuning, might have to pull the ****** out look it over, put a rebuilt 4 speed in it and occaisionally whine's pretty good in first gear. Load it up with beer and the slicks and set sail. See you all at the Ramada. Reeeaally looking foward to it. Gary

Just got done girdling the rear axle on my truck and relocating the shocks, etc. Still need to get a drive shaft made up that doesn't buzz at high RPM. I just ordered some new wheels and need to get over to the tire place for some new skins.

Still talking Go-Kat-Go Chris into ***embling a drag bike,

    Plan, what plan?

Gotta get the lighting problem fixed in my Chebby truck, or I'll be driving the Louie-mobile Poncho again this year.

I have slicks but they're not on the car yet. A well used set of Hoosier radials. I had hoped to have track tested them by this time but I've not made it to the strip yet this year.

Anyway, with the slicks I'll probably bust the input shaft and you'll win anyway. ;-)

I know exactly what you mean. I don't care if I have to push her back to S. Carolina, as long as I make it there and make a few p***es, getting back home is unimportiant.

    See ya, -Abone.

I think after last year, I'm bringing my swiming suit, an umbrella, and some rubbers (for my feet). So if it rains, I won't have to huddle under the hotel's front car port with 100 other sweaty & stinky guys (& gals).

In actuallity, I need to either sweet talk my Dad into him loaning me his truck or bite the bullet and install an electric trailer brake switch into mine. I ain't gonna pull my Model A for 7 hours on a trailer without brakes.

Rerebuild the trans, change the oil, tighten a few bolts and nuts. Then hit the road!

Oh yeah, find some more money!

When you find that money Jerry, let us all know where it is.

Got some lathe time tonght and got the wheels for the slicks ready. My lathe may be a monster but it's great for stuff like this.

Let's see-Deliver car to L.A., pick up car in Fresno, up and across to the DRY!? Salt Flats, then make a couple hot laps around the Midwest, load for the swap meet on thurs, sell, sell, sell on Friday and make Joplin by 7pm to load/unload more stuff. Then prolly drink a beer.

Oh, and maybe attempt to get the T ready somewhere in the mix.

Might prepare for the onslought of early arrivals if I have time. If, not I'll just buy more beer. ;)

Since I sold the original HAMBCHARGERS Dodge after the drags last year, I`m having to start all over again.

trying to get the HAMBCHARGERS 2 ready to go...

still need to change the rear end, replace the master cylinder and brakes all the way around, finish welding in full floor pan, replace windshield hook up trans cooler, install new tach...and change the old points dist. over to electronic...

Hoping to break into the 16s this year running an old 413 in a `64 Dodge Polara.
My best time last year was in the 18s...NOT fast, but I was only hoping to make a sub 20 p***... Mission accomplished!!!

The last time I ran before last year, was in 1965 at Sooner Raceway , Ringwood, OK..in a `40 ford coupe with a 283, and 3 spd I didn`t get under 20s back then. [ I was only 16 ]

Hoping to have it ready !!

    Finish the front nerf bar.

    Fix oil leak
    Fix another oil leak
    Fix yet another oil leak

Go back and forth on repainting wheels to black. Ya know It just aint cool to to have red wheels since I have a black primered car anymore.

    Load up spare parts.

    Go to drags.

    Get inspired.

    Sell car.

    Start next project car.

This will be my first HAMB drags and I have a couple questions. Is there any kind of safety tech and if so whats required? IM ***uming I'll be OK with only lap belts and helmet in closed car? Will there be Race gas available on sight?

  29. Kerry,
I got a new rear, trans, engine and brakes in the car for this year. I only have a thousand things left to do... more like only a hundred things. All wiring and plumbing and unforseen problems. Plus my OCD won't let me finish one thing before tampering with another. When you see me, make sure you take a look at my obsession! I'd be lost without Fritz's help. It's gonna be nice when it's done.
Now, if I could only finish...

Yes and yes, depending on how fast your car is.
