My paint is now all finished well almost. Just the engine cover to go and then a final safety inspection this coming Wednesday and she will be all legal to drive on NZ roads WOOOHOOO http://www.flickr.com/photos/86936723@N04/
kiwiwilly, I think you are pulling our collective leg! There ain't no such thing as "finished" in this hobby. LOL Good luck with your inspection.
yea thats true Steve I'm thinking of maybe an overdrive unit if the revs are too high at 60mph. We will see when I take her out on the highway later this week.
KiwiWilly, You know when you finally park your truck.... an all around video would be nice. We want details ! Thanks, Sky Valley
I have a short video made by my nephew when I took my 94 year old Mother for a ride but it's on my Facebook page. I will make another video and get someone to put it on youtube for me
took my truck on its first big adventure yesterday,138 mile round trip and the fuel gauge has only just moved from F when I got home. The original '83 dually donor truck weighed 3960Lb over the front axle and it now only weighs 3086Lb so I might have to change the front coil springs for some lighter ones as it rides a little bit hard for my liking. It is strange not having any engine noise coming from the front or directly below me. I can't get over how quiet it is inside the cab when out on the highway. I will try to make a video of it today and get someone (my nephew) maybe to show me how to upload it onto youtube
CG would love to come help you build your COE. I'm sure I can even speak Alabamish ya all And a bit of horse riding on your ranch wouldn't go a miss either
CG - Do you guys even have paved roads in Alabama? I mean if you are importing him, you HAVE to bring his truck with him too.
Of course they have paved roads in Alabama! Talladega is paved. Hey C.G, if we weren't picking on you, we might be picking on me! LOL
Come on y'all, we've got a paved road in Alabama, I saw it one time. Kiwi, unless you're into that fancy dressage **** you would want to ride our horses. I won't even get on them, that's my wife's thing. I just feed them and shovel horse doovers. I'm with that goofy kscarguy about you bringing your truck with you when you come. Speaking of kscarguy, what's up with him moving to Kansas or wherever he moved just so he could search for Dorothy and Toto because he never stopped fantasizing about them after seeing the movie as a child. Wolfcreek, you guys can pick on me all you want, hell you can even pretend I'm your nose since I can be a bit of a booger at times.
no issues flew through inspection they only made me put some ugly reflectors on the rear. I have done two trips to Palmerston North 75 mile round trip each time and ran like a clock
here you go another vid on youtube driving my truck out of my workshop http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0-MAjmDaak&feature=youtu.be
you look like a proud pa pa. and rightfully so. your labors have paid off. great job. now go get some bugs on it.
