anybody on here have one or know someone who does (other than SCRIBE)??? my buddy Denny (Hotroddrummer's dad) was up at the place where they are made last week and went for a ride in one the owner had put together. he said it was about 30 degrees out but it was a VERY good ride. it was quick as hell (should be with a SBC and a light**** body) but what he said he was most impressed with is how well it rode and handled. and this from a seasoned (ie. OLD ) chassis expert. for what they cost and what you get with it it seems like a real good deal. if my plate was'nt so full allready i think i'd like to get one. you could have one sweet little roadster done and on the road in no time, without all the headaches involved with building a car from scratch. for probably the same money if not less too. i personaly really like to build them but sometimes it is nice to just put something together without all the fabrication, parts hunting and busted knuckles. just wondered if anyone else has experienced one of these little guys aswell and what they thought of it. educated opinions only PLEASE. i don't really care if you think it's a 1:1 plastic model kit and not a real hot rod. thats not the point. maybe Dan can share some of his thoughts since he's gotten some miles under his belt in one by now. also, how was the build?? difficult? not so difficult? easy???

Kustombuilder - That modified are nice - Kieth from my area owns th company and is just getting it going. They have been in Rods & Customs recently. He also owns Fairlane - which makes 50's Ford fenders. The are a complet kit for around $12000, Just add engine and drive train.
I'm kinda with you on this one Kustombuilder. I've kept track of this project as it's been coming together and have talked to the owners several times. They have recently reduced the price for the base model to make it more attractive for the first time buyer. They now offer just the BARE BONES setup so you can be up and running for less $$$$$$$ My son and I have been tossing this idea around to put my grandson into a hot rod when he turns 16. There are some pro and con issues to resolve but right now the bottom line is on a positive note. Mike, I've got a great idea. Why don't you buy a kit, build it to a finished state, and let any interested HAMBer borrow it for a couple of months to see for themselves what a great plan you have. I'll just put my name on the list first and promise to report a unbiased drive test. Another bonus for you, we'll pick it up at your place and save you the drive all the way across the state. Let me know when you plan to have it finished and I'll put it on the calendar so it won't be sitting around your place in the way. Frank
Uhhh...maybe I don't know? I took it as "you could do it cheaper by ordering seperate pieces from a catalog"...but re-reading it I might be wrong? Sorry about that. I think that car is really cool and if you bought it "bare" enough it could be made to look a lot less sterile (if that makes sense?). Just about any lump sum is out of the picture for me though. For the most part my car has been built $50 at a time.
Mike.......... how's the unenjoyment line????? Rick is******in he has to learn a new job tonight!!! The boy's from Fairlane make the best F100 parts in the business. So that new body should be top notch (as far as glass goes)
Rick, it's GREAT. does'nt pay too well but it's easy .. sheeit, i gotta get out in the garage and do a little work out there yet tonight. it's actually been nice to get to spend a little time on some stuff in the garage lately. i've got projects lined out the door but i stil got room for ore so if any of you check book rodders wanna spend some money drop me a line i got a hot rod habit, a wife, two dogs and a cat to support. oh, and then there is the****** support to pay too, but that is coming out of my uemployment check....
Yeah ,its a neat little car/project- but I meant to say that it is mostly basic catalog stuff. Most of which you can get for the unit price of each item[or less]elsewhere. in the vast marketplace of available components. The body is neat- [but a metal body could be substituted for around 3800bux]. basically their body and the frame/rear hsg and two axles is the bulk of their "deal"......Id say it could be done in a new metal RPU body and steel hood grille shell- a good used 9"rear complete- and a set of steelies and walmart tires for much less and then the frame could be done simply at home from a used A frame.the rest could be added 20 dollars at at a time from a parts store as you could afford the small parts......Yeah their deal is OK but it aint cheap or complete either......JUST MY OPINION....
