one pet peeve i have is people building a traditional rod and putting a 350 chevy in it ! i'm sorry but that motor is for the "street rodders" and the 1-800 plastic toy guy's. they did not have 350's back in the day and that is the easy way out for a builder. it takes searching and dedication to find a vintage motor and three pedals are the best. my current project is a modified made from the following: suicide frame, stepped and z'eed, the body is made from a '31 ford truck cowl,'28 intnl door skins, the back of the front seat of a '34 ford pheaton. a '56 292 y-block w/ triple deuce offenhauser intake, it has 94's ,'57 3-speed, '35 plymouth steering w/ banjo wheel, drilled '32 ford front axle which hung in a barn since 1960. model a split wish bones up front and '48 wish bones out back.'40 ford banjo rear end with open drive. '35 ford rims and model t gas tank. i feel this is what a real traditional hot rod is,made from original parts. it could be a kool kustom,'40 ford, model a, or any other pre or post war iron.

why do we need traditional and street rod terms anyway!doesnt the word hot rod say it all. lets face we all know a hot rod when we see one and it is all about expression, hows about some tripper adding that term to the cars we love as hot rods. why does some f@#$wit have to change our "traditional" wording anyway. like man hole to person hole, get a life, get a hair cut and get a hot rod.
