Real rusty Chevy

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by **DONOTDELETE**, Nov 24, 2003.

  1. Hey does anyone out there happen to know if the cab on a 38-39 Chevy 1 ton/1.5 ton is the same as the 1/2 ton pickup?Has anyone out there had any experience with these trucks? I saw one rusting away in a field the other day and I was just curious of it's potential to be a kick ass rod. I want to of course chop and channel over a smaller frame and run it without fenders or running bords and an probably an open engine bay. I was looking around on the web yesterday but almost everyone who has one of these trucks just restores them to stock. I was just wondering if there was a particular reason why nobody kustomizes these trucks? Or is this just another case of the "Well if it's not a 32 Ford or a 57 Chevy then I don't want it!" mentality? Anyways keep me posted if anyone sees anything cool with late 30's Chevy pick'mup. I'm going back to check it out and maybe get some measurements.-HnG13 [IMG]

HG13, there is some differences between 38 and 39. 38 is like a 37-38 and 39 is like a 39-46. Doesn't matter for your application. Cab is same for 1/1.5 ton and 0.5 ton, it's the fenders that are different.

Do an intro and people will be nicer, I must be in a good mood today.
