Does anyone know what those autobody slide hammers are called that weld themselves to the sheetmetal with those pin stud deals. I thinks its called like a fitzenagle or some strange german word. Im not sure, anyone know what im talking about?
Stud gun, and buy a quality one. One of the guys in the shop bought one from horable freight. Aint worth ****. I guess the gun is ok, but the slide hammer dosent grip the studs right.
Here: http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?itemID=512&itemType=CATEGORY&iMainCat=504&iSubCat=512 I worked with collision repair a while ago and we had something similar, but it was a triangular copperthing at the and of the slidehammer that welded directly to the metal, you just pulled a couple of times then twisted it and it came loose, was less work then a stud welder and worked better! Ill try to find a pic or more info!
http://www.autobodytoolmart.com/pc-11743-775-1541-shark-ii-dent-removal-system.aspx this style is SOOOO much faster and less work then the pin type. Search around for different pricing cause I paid a lot less (different brand, but too lazy to go look right now). I believe this is the type of tool Crankshaft was talking about too. If you own this tool, you will throw your pin gun away.
