Customs Rear axle moved forward on '55 Chevy - why?

  1. Just a historically inaccurate Street Freak. Obviously the builder didn't know that or just enjoys the comments at the cruise nights. I won't even get into the modern fake spindle mount wheels again. That's been beat to death here yet I saw more at the hamb drags than I've seen in years so the traditional guys I mean the real ones aren't going to win that battle I guess.( I have no idea why my phone likes to capitalize some things but it's hard to edit them out so there you go)

I was thinking (hoping?) it's an old AWB racer somebody cleaned up and not a recent build.

I learned about altered wheelbases in the 1960s as a teenager. What were your interests back when they were doing cars like this? Not trying to be rude, just wondering. You are old enough to remember when they moved the wheelbase on clown cars so they would do wheelies, right?

Probably be more appealing if it was also decorated like a 60's drag car?
